Soil macroinvertebrate communities: A world-wide assessment
Abstract Aim Macroinvertebrates comprise a highly diverse set of taxa with great potential as indicators of soil quality. Communities were sampled at 3,694 sites distributed world‐wide. We aimed to analyse the patterns of abundance, composition and network characteristics and their relationships to latitude, mean annual temperature and rainfall, land ...

The position of the Haplotaxidae in the evolution of oligochaete annelids
Hydrobiologia, 1984The Haplotaxidae have all the characteristics to support the hypothesis that they are the living descendents of the stem forms from which all of the Oligochaeta Clitellata (Orders Lumbriculida, Haplotaxida, Lumbricida, Tubificida) can be derived. The Aphanoneura are distinct from the Clitellata and are raised to a separate Class.

A taxonomic revision of the family Haplotaxidae (Oligochaeta)
Journal of Zoology, 1966The family Haplotaxidae is re‐defined and the genera Pelodrilus, Heterochaetella and Adenodrilus are merged in the single genus Haplotaxis. Haplotaxis dubius and Haplotaxis ascaridoides are recognized as subspecies of Haplotaxis gordioides, and H. forbesi is regarded as synonymous with H. gordioides following a re‐examination of the type material.

A phenetic and cladistic study of spermatozoal ultrastructure in the Oligochaeta (Annelids)
Spermatozoal ultrastructure of nine oligochaete families has been examined for congruence with phylogenetic and taxonomic systems for the Oligochaeta based on general morphology, particularly the holomorphological hennigian analysis of Jamieson (1978a ...

The spermatozoon of Haplotaxis ornamentus has characteristics common to all oligochaete sperm: filiform; primary acrosome vesicle carried on an acrosome tube and containing an axial rod (perforatorium) in an invagination (subvesicular space or secondary acrosomal invagination); an elongate, highly condensed cylindrical nucleus followed by a cylindrical

Fourteen taxa in three families are noted from regions of South America. Monopylephorus moleti (Tubificidae) and Haplotaxis aedeochaeta (Haplotaxidae) are new to science, while Potamothrix bavaricus (Tubificidae) and Phreodrilus lacustris (Phreodrilidae) are new records for the continent.

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2020
The work was aimed to investigate earthworms species particularly Eutyphoeus endemic to India with the use of DNA barcodes and usual morpho-anatomical standards of earthworm taxonomy from protected areas of Garo Hills, Meghalaya, the north-east region (NER) of India. The study revealed two new records Eutyphoeus kempi Stephenson, E.

A taxonomic analysis of the Haplotaxidae (Annelida, Oligochaeta)
Canadian Journal of Zoology, 1988A combination of classical and computer-aided methods suggests that the Haplotaxidae can now be divided into several genera. Alphadrilus nov.gen. is monotypic for Alphadrilus smithii n.comb. Delaya nov.gen. contains D. bureschi, D. leruthi, D. corbarensis, D. cantabronensis, and D. navarrensis, all n.comb. Adenodrilus is retained for A.
