Phase I/II Prospective Study on Endoscopic Ultrasound‐Guided Hepaticogastrostomy as Primary Drainage for Unresectable Malignant Hilar Biliary Obstruction

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 7, Issue 1, April 2027.
ABSTRACT Objectives Various drainage methods have been used for unresectable malignant hilar biliary obstruction (MHBO). However, controlling cholangitis and obstructive jaundice is still challenging. We performed a phase I/II study of endoscopic ultrasound‐guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS‐HGS) as primary drainage for MHBO.

Scientific collaboration in data‐intensive research networks: PhD fellows' expectations and early experiences

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 9, Page 1153-1168, September 2026.
Abstract Collaboration has become important at all stages of research careers. In data‐intensive research fields such as wind energy, many PhD fellows are socialized to such collaboration in networks that train a cohort of PhD fellows. Based on interviews with 23 PhD fellows in four wind‐energy training networks, we investigate their expectations and ...

Deep Spatially Varying Coefficient Model for Interpolation of Non‐Stationary Meteorological Data

open access: yesEnvironmetrics, Volume 37, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT In spatial statistics, the spatially varying coefficient model (SVCM) is widely applied in the analysis and interpolation of non‐stationary spatial data. By incorporating spatially varying coefficients, the model can capture spatial heterogeneity and provide an attractive interpretation of response‐covariate associations.

Paternal Exposure to the Neonicotinoid Pesticide Clothianidin Alters Sperm MicroRNA Profiles in Mice and Intergenerationally Reduces Locomotor Activity in Male Offspring

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 9, Page 3164-3176, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that paternal environmental factors have epigenetic effects on sperm and influence offspring. Neonicotinoid pesticides (NNs), which are widely used around the world, are known to affect offspring phenotypes through maternal exposure in mice, but the effect of the paternal exposure remains unknown.

Nutritional quality traits in pea seed: Current knowledge and opportunities for genetic improvement

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 189, Issue 2, September 2026.
This comprehensive review on nutritional traits in pea (Pisum sativum L.) summarizes the literature on genetic improvement of this highly nutritious and environmentally sustainable crop for different end‐uses. Abstract Pea is a major pulse crop valued for its high protein, carbohydrate, and mineral content, as well as its agronomic role in sustainable ...

The oscillatory response of the electroretinogram and neuronal adaptation

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 6, Page 616-637, September 2026.
Abstract After more than 50 years, there still remains a challenge and an interest to know more as well as extend and deepen our understanding of the small rapid wavelets, the oscillatory potentials (OPs), of the electroretinogram (ERG) and the neuronal adaptation of the retina.

Development of an Imaging‐Based Method for Analyzing Voided Urine Flow Using Conventional and High‐Speed Video Cameras: A Phantom Study

open access: yesLUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms, Volume 18, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims This study examined whether voided urine form could be an independent parameter to evaluate pathology of the lower urinary tract separately from conventional uroflowmetric measurements. We also evaluated a novel combined methodology of dynamically measuring the velocity and cross‐sectional area (CA) of voided urine.

Staurosporine Drives Non‐Canonical Melanocyte Maturation by Coupling β‐Catenin Signaling to Actin‐Dependent Dendrite Remodeling

open access: yesPigment Cell &Melanoma Research, Volume 39, Issue 5, September 2026.
Staurosporine drives non‐canonical melanocyte maturation through β‐catenin‐dependent actin remodeling. Functional maturation enhances dendrite architecture and melanogenic differentiation without inducing melanocyte proliferation, providing a biological framework for restoring functional melanocytes in acquired hypopigmentary disorders.
