Measuring Dry Deposition of Sea Spray Aerosol and Height of Aerosol Plume Using a Controlled Wave Pool

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 19, 16 October 2026.
Abstract Deposition of sea spray aerosols facilitates atmospheric corrosion of materials, requiring maintenance and replacement over time. However, the dimensions of sea spray aerosol plumes produced from breaking waves have not been well‐characterized, limiting useful prediction of particle transport downwind and atmospheric corrosion. Therefore, this

Successful Breast‐Conserving Surgery Following Dose‐Modified Neoadjuvant Chemoimmunotherapy in an 86‐Year‐Old Patient With Locally Advanced Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Patients aged ≥ 80 years with breast cancer are underrepresented in clinical trials, resulting in limited evidence regarding optimal treatment strategies, particularly for triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC). We report the case of an 86‐year‐old woman with locally advanced PD‐L1–positive TNBC who presented with a painful 10‐cm breast mass ...

Adeno‐Associated Virus Vector‐Mediated Expression of Neuroligin 2 in the Mouse Hippocampus Attenuates the Progression of Pentylenetetrazol‐Induced Seizures

open access: yesThe Journal of Gene Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 10, October 2026.
Mice received bilateral hippocampal injections of an AAV vector expressing NL2, followed by repeated PTZ administration. NL2 expression in the HPC attenuated seizure progression and reduced c‐Fos expression in the ventral HPC. These findings suggest that AAV‐mediated NL2 expression in the HPC may be a potential therapeutic strategy for seizure control.

The lower γ region supports forward rotation in the latter half of the 80° substep of F1‐ATPase

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract F1‐ATPase achieves unidirectional rotation of its γ shaft through coordinated conformational cycling of the α3β3 ring, yet how shaft–ring interactions contribute to the directionality of rotation remains unclear. Here we analyzed an axle‐less TF1, in which the lower γ region is truncated, by combining single‐molecule rotation assays with cryo ...

Proximity Proteomics Maps Candidate Cellular Uptake Pathways for Cell‐Derived Nanovesicles

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 19, 7 October 2026.
TurboID‐based dual‐sided proteomics compares mechanically generated cell‐derived nanovesicles with naturally secreted small extracellular vesicles. Vesicle proteomes define candidate interaction signatures, while recipient‐cell proximity labelling identifies exposure‐associated proteins.

A Machine Learning‐Based Model of Three‐Dimensional Ion Fluxes in the High‐Altitude Earth's Northern Cusp

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract Magnetic reconnection at the dayside magnetopause is the primary pathway for transferring mass, momentum, and energy from the solar wind into the terrestrial magnetosphere. Previous studies have shown that the spatiotemporal dynamics of dayside magnetic reconnection can be inferred remotely from properties of Earth's cusps, specifically their ...

Microbiota Signatures in Early Life and Their Association With Food Allergy: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 10, Page 3453-3471, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Food allergy (FA) is increasing worldwide, and early life may be a critical window for immune training. We systematically reviewed observational human studies linking early‐life microbiota (infant, maternal, environmental, or extraintestinal) profiled using culture‐based and/or culture‐independent methods (including sequencing‐based approaches)

Perinatal Factors Associated With Standardized Blood Pressure Percentiles for Children Aged 6 to 12 Years: The BOSHI Study

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Hypertension, Volume 28, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Elevated childhood blood pressure (BP) is associated with adulthood cardiovascular mortality. However, evidence of an association between maternal and perinatal factors and standardized childhood BP percentiles in Japan remains limited. In this study, we examined this association by using data from the BOSHI study, which included children's ...

Impact Investing With Shareholder Engagement

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 700-715, October 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we study the impact of shareholder engagement on asset prices and corporate practices. We develop a dynamic equilibrium model where heterogeneous green investors choose their optimal asset allocation and costly engagement efforts, and a representative firm sets its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to minimize both its cost of ...
