Probing the Complex and Variable X-ray Absorption of Markarian 6 with XMM-Newton
We report on an X-ray observation of the Seyfert 1.5 galaxy Mrk 6 obtained with the EPIC instruments onboard XMM-Newton. Archival BeppoSAX PDS data from 18-120 keV were also used to constrain the underlying hard power-law continuum.

The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Learner success in eLearning : room for improvement-- but how? : an analysis of the problem of retention and completion in an online programme : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Education in Adult Education at Massey University [PDF]
Lack of time to work on their online programme was a more significant barrier for students on an online programme than problems such as cost, access to a computer, computer difficulties, childcare or other family responsibilities, or lack of employer ...

Ionization Corrections For Low-Metallicity H II Regions and the Primordial Helium Abundance
Helium and hydrogen recombination lines observed in low-metallicity, extragalactic H II regions provide the data used to infer the primordial helium mass fraction, Y_P.

N-fold module factorizations [PDF]
Module factorizations with two factors of a regular normal element in a ring are newly introduced by Xiao-Wu Chen. In the paper, we introduce n-fold module factorizations, that is, module factorizations with n factors. First we realize the category of n-fold module factorizations as the module category of a matrix subring.

We generated and characterized clear cell renal cell carcinoma models using the patient‐derived RCC243 cell line—including cell culture, orthotopic, and metastatic tumors—via single‐cell RNA‐sequencing for comparisons between models and patient tumor datasets.

Comparative study of adenosine 3′‐pyrophosphokinase domains of MuF polymorphic toxins
With the ultimate goal of understanding the association of toxin‐immunity modules to temperate phages, we characterized toxins from three prophages and examined cross‐protection from immunity proteins. The toxins exhibit adenosine 3′‐pyrophosphokinase activity and are toxic in Escherichia coli.

How to improve the regression factor score predictor when individuals have different factor loadings [PDF]
Previous research has shown that ignoring individual differences of factor loadings in conventional factor models may reduce the determinacy of factor score predictors. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to propose a heterogeneous regression factor score with larger determinacy than the conventional regression factor score when individuals have

Primitive factorizations, Jucys-Murphy elements, and matrix models [PDF]
A factorization of a permutation into transpositions is called "primitive" if its factors are weakly ordered. We discuss the problem of enumerating primitive factorizations of permutations, and its place in the hierarchy of previously studied factorization problems.
