An Area-Based Prior Value Method for Detection of Micro Contamination in Hard Disk Drives
This paper presents a new area-based prior value technique for the improvement of automatic visual inspection in hard disk drive manufacturing. Micro-contaminations are detected on the air-bearing surface of the head gimbal assembly.

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

On a certain lubrication slip model
We consider a stationary equation modeling the slip flow in a hard disk drive. A result of existence is proven under different hypotheses than in the literature. The uniqueness of solution followed from monotonicity techniques for nonlinear PDEs.

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...
