Influence of Lubricant Environment on Machined Surface Quality in Single-Point Diamond Turning of Ferrous Metal

open access: yesMicromachines, 2021
In the field of single-point diamond turning (SPDT), machining ferrous metal is an important research topic with promising application. For SPDT of ferrous metal, the influence of lubricant on the workpiece surface morphology remains to be studied.

Residual stress development in hard machining - a review

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
Metal machining processes require primarily cutting tool materials with high hardness, high resistance to the abrasive wear and thermal stability. The development of cutting tool materials results in advanced tool materials such are primarily ceramics ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

FEA modeling of orthogonal cutting of steel: a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Orthogonal cutting is probably the most studied machining operation for metals. Its simulation with the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method is of paramount academic interest.

Down‐regulation of Shh in the hair follicles of mice during chemotherapy‐induced hair loss is mediated by the JAK/STAT1 signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.

Experimental study on the influence of lapping plate materials on the quality of both sides cylindrical rollers machining

open access: yesScientific Reports
The both-sides machining method can obtain high precision cylindrical rollers, but there is a drawback that the lapping plate is easy to wear, which restricts further improvement in the quality of rollers machining.

The efficiency of hard machining processes

open access: yesNanotechnology Perceptions, 2018
Machining of hardened surfaces has improved significantly in the past. In addition to long-lasting abrasive machining, machining with cutting tools having geometrically defined single point cutting edges has also appeared, and its productivity gets ...

Micromechanics of Machining and Wear in Hard and Brittle Materials.

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society. American Ceramic Society, 2020
Hard and brittle solids with covalent/ionic bonding are used in a wide range of modern-day manufacturing technologies. Optimization of a shaping process can shorten manufacturing time and cost of component production, and at the same time extend ...
