Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Rising India’s Soft Power: Illusion or Influence? [PDF]

open access: yesRevista UNISCI
This article traces how India’s soft power has been analysed over the years since its conceptualisation in the 1990s. It argues that most of the focus has been on its potential non-military elements of soft power thereby perpetuating illusion about India’

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Câteva consideraţii asupra noţiunii de smart power din perspectiva teoriei politice

open access: yesSociologie Românească, 2009
As it is generally acknowledged by now, the strategy of the Obama Administration has been originally called “smart power”. Nevertheless, the intelligent power exercised both domestically and internationally does not depend solely on the abilities of a ...

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Opinions Surrounding the Current Hybrid Confrontation

open access: yesEIRP Proceedings, 2021
In most states in the world, the ethnic structure of the population also includes minorities, which can be massively supported from outside the country by a dominant regional power, in order to produce desired ends during confrontations with hybrid ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Temperature field in a cylindrical porous layer during “endless” heating with heat outflow

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики
RELEVANCE. This article proposes a mathematical model for calculating the temperature field in the annular porous layer of an downhole reactor during continuous heating of a bottomhole zone containing high-viscosity oil (VVN) and natural bitumen (PB ...
