Age-Hardenable Electrical Contact-Spring Material
IEEE Transactions on Parts, Materials and Packaging, 1969There is at present no satisfactory material available that can comply with all three of the most important criteria of a make-break spring contact, i.e. good spring properties, switching capability, and contact-resistance stability. As the result of a development program, a monolithic contact-spring material, composed of an age-hardening silver ...

Hardening parameters of elastic-viscoplastic materials
International Journal of Engineering Science, 1978Abstract A study by the author [1–3] of the delayed behavior of perturbations in isotropic elastic-viscoplastic media is extended to include usual macroscopic hardening parameters and particular evolution laws proposed in plastic theories. The results obtained are made explicit for some well-known cases where stability conditions and an evaluation of

STRUCTURAL MATERIALS FOR HARDENED PERSONNEL SHELTERS
1963Abstract : Structural materials are evaluated for use in fully-buried personnel shelters, located above the ground water table. Analytical relationships are supplied for the structural elements of these shelters, assuming shelter configurations of a rectangular cubicle, a horizontal 180 degree arch and full cylinder, and a 180 degree dome and full ...

Plastic flow in dispersion hardened materials
Metallurgical Transactions A, 1985In this review consideration is given to the sequence of processes which can occur in dispersion strengthened materials during plastic deformation. Consideration is given to the role of elastic back stresses and their influence on the magnitude of the Bauschinger effect and on dimensional stability.

Shear band susceptibility: Work hardening materials
International Journal of Plasticity, 1992A phenomenological model of rigid, work hardening, plastic material, with rate hardening and thermal softening, is analysed to determine susceptibility to the formation of adiabatic shear bands. One examines perturbation equations that are linearized about a homogeneous solution of the nonlinear problem.
