Multi-material linearization beam hardening correction for computed tomography

Journal of X-Ray Science and Technology: Clinical Applications of Diagnosis and Therapeutics, 2017
Beam hardening causes cupping and streaking artifacts in computed tomographic images, the presence of such artifacts can impair both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the reconstructed data. When the scanned object is composed of a single material, it is possible to correct beam hardening artifacts using the linearization method.

Computer simulation study of short-range order hardening

Metallurgical Transactions A, 1990
Computer simulation is used to analyze the short-range order hardening (SROH) effect in Cu-25 at. pct Au. It is confirmed that the subsequent dislocations randomize the state of order of a system.

Computational mesomechanics of titanium surface-hardened by ultrasonic treatment

Physical Mesomechanics, 2017
This paper studies plastic strain localization and stress-strain evolution in commercial titanium specimens with an ultrasonically treated surface. A dynamic plane strain boundary-value problem is numerically solved by the finite difference method. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the composition are specified in the calculations based ...

Modification of Hardening Parameter for Computational Plasticity

2017
ABSTRACTHardening can be defined as increase in the strengthof a material due to plastic deformation. A type of hardening, which is workhardening, is performed under the cold working conditions. In metallic solidspermanent change of shape is generally carried out on a microscopic scale bydefects called dislocations which are created by stress.

Enhancing the performance of radiation-hardened embedded computer systems

Russian Microelectronics, 2006
Adaptive clock-rate switching is discussed in terms of enhancing the performance of radiation-hardened embedded computer systems. Clock rate is optimized by evaluating the closeness of the current failure rate to its maximum allowable level.

[Beam hardening correction method for X-ray computed tomography based on subsection beam hardening curves].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2015
After researching the forming principle of X-ray beam hardening and analyzing the usual methods of beam hardening correction, a beam hardening correction model was established, in which the independent variable was the projection gray, and so the computing difficulties in beam hardening correction can be reduced.
