Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Disentangling Long Trajectory Contributions in Two-Colour High Harmonic Generation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
This work investigates High Harmonic Generation (HHG) in gas targets, induced by intense two-colour driving fields. We compared classical trajectory Monte Carlo simulations based on a semiclassical model of strong field tunnel ionisation of helium to ...

Evolution of Nuclear Many-Body Forces with the Similarity Renormalization Group

open access: yes, 2009
The first practical method to evolve many-body nuclear forces to softened form using the Similarity Renormalization Group (SRG) in a harmonic oscillator basis is demonstrated.

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

An Ensemble-Based Classifier to Determine the Harmonic Contribution Responsibility Between Utility’s Grid and Microgrids

open access: yesIEEE Access
The integration of nonlinear loads and distributed energy resources in microgrids (MG) has increased the levels of harmonic distortions in distribution feeders. Identifying the responsibility for the harmonic distortions measured at the MG’s point

Harmonic Analysis on Torque Ripple of Brushless DC Motor Based on Advanced Commutation Control

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2018
This paper investigates the relationship between current, back electromotive force (back-EMF), and torque for permanent-magnet brushless DC (PM BLDC) motors under advanced commutation control from the perspective of harmonics.

Nonmonotonic $d_{x^2-y^2}$ superconducting gap in electron-doped Pr$_{0.89}$LaCe$_{0.11}$CuO$_4$: Evidence of coexisting antiferromagnetism and superconductivity?

open access: yes, 2006
Recent experiments on Pr$_{0.89}$LaCe$_{0.11}$CuO$_4$ observe an anisotropic spin-correlation gap and a nonmonotonic superconducting (SC) gap, which we analyze within the framework of a $t-t^{\prime}-t^{\prime\prime}-t^{\prime\prime\prime}-t^{iv}-U ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

On Sequential Warped Products Whose Manifold Admits Gradient Schouten Harmonic Solitons

open access: yesMathematics
As part of our study, we investigate gradient Schouten harmonic solutions to sequential warped product manifolds. The main contribution of our work is an explanation of how it is possible to express gradient Schouten harmonic solitons on sequential ...

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...
