In this paper, the detection of a small reflector in a randomly heterogenous medium using second-harmonic generation is investigated. The medium is illuminated by a time-harmonic plane wave at frequency omega.

Noise-tunable nonlinearity in a dispersively coupled diffusion-resonator system using superconducting circuits [PDF]
The harmonic oscillator is one of the most widely used model systems in physics: an indispensable theoretical tool in a variety of fields. It is well known that otherwise linear oscillators can attain novel and nonlinear features through interaction with

The rf control and detection system for PACO the parametric converter detector [PDF]
In this technical note the rf control and detection system for a detector of small harmonic displacements based on two coupled microwave cavities (PACO) is presented. The basic idea underlying this detector is the principle of parametric power conversion

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

BaNa: a noise resilient fundamental frequency detection algorithm for speech and music [PDF]
Fundamental frequency (F0) is one of the essential features in many acoustic related applications. Although numerous F0 detection algorithms have been developed, the detection accuracy in noisy environments still needs improvement.

Comparison of PSDA and CCA detection methods in a SSVEP-based BCI-system [PDF]
Using steady-state visually evoked potential (SSVEP) in brain-computer interface (BCI) systems is the subject of a lot of research. One of the most popular and widely used detection method is using a power spectral density analysis (PSDA).

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
