Reduction of total harmonic distortion in power inverters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The output voltage of PWM power inverters shows harmonic distortion due to several causes; the main ones are the modulation algorithm, nonlinearities in the output filter, dead times, voltage drops across the switches and modulation of the dc bus voltage.

Quasisymmetric distortion spectrum

open access: yes, 2009
We give improved bounds for the distortion of the Hausdorff dimension under quasisymmetric maps in terms of the dilatation of their quasiconformal extension.

About Voltage Total Harmonic Distortion for Single- and Three-Phase Multilevel Inverters

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2015
Many recent multilevel inverter papers end up with voltage total harmonic distortion (THD) values obtained from numerical voltage spectrum calculations (measurements).

Growth of Millimeter‐Sized BaTaO2N Single Crystals by an NH3‐Assisted BaCl2 Flux Method

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Millimeter‐sized BaTaO2N single crystals are successfully grown from a BaCl2 flux under NH3 flow. Their comprehensive characterization, including dielectric properties, is demonstrated, and the possible growth mechanisms are discussed. Abstract Perovskite‐type oxynitrides have attracted considerable attention due to their excellent photocatalytic ...

Optimal sizing of C-type passive filters under non-sinusoidal conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In the literature, much attention has been focused on power system harmonics. One of its important effects is degradation of the load power factor. In this article, a C-type filter is used for reducing harmonic distortion, improving system performance ...

Local Thermal Conductivity Patterning in Rotating Lattice Crystals of Anisotropic Sb2S3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale control of thermal conductivity in Sb2S3 is demonstrated via laser‐induced rotating lattice crystals. Thermal conductivity imaging reveals marked thermal transport anisotropy, with the c axis featuring amorphous‐like transport, whereas in‐plane directions (a, b) exhibit 3.5x and 1.7x larger thermal conductivity.

Application of PI controller based DSTATCOM for improving the power quality in a power system network with induction furnace load [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2012
This paper presents the application of DSTATCOM in a distribution network with induction furnace load. Inductionfurnace is one of the common types of load used in industries like the steel industry.

Harmonic distortion analyzer speeds setup of magnetic tape recorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Harmonic distortion analyzer effects rapid and accurate setup and calibration of magnetic tape instrumentation recorders. The analyzer is portable, requires no warmup period and need not be calibrated for normal usage.

Self‐Trapped Hole Migration and Defect‐Mediated Thermal Quenching of Luminescence in α‐ and β‐Ga2O3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Temperature‐dependent photoluminescence and first‐principles calculations reveal self‐trapped hole migration as the microscopic origin of thermal quenching in α‐ and β‐Ga2O3. The low migration barrier in α‐Ga2O3 enables defect trapping and enhances blue luminescence, while the higher barrier in β‐Ga2O3 preserves ultraviolet emission at elevated ...
