Magnetic Non-Contact Harmonic Drive

Volume 1: Advances in Aerodynamics, 2013
The MAGDRIVE project, granted by the Space program of the EU-FP7, is developing a gear able to produce reduction ratios from 1 to several hundreds by means of magnetic teeth. The teeth, unlike the conventional gears, do not touch one to other. This makes that this gear does not need any kind of lubrication.

Cotunneling rate on harmonic drive and triangle drive

Proceedings of 20th Biennial Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements, 2002
In a single electron pump operated by harmonic drive and triangle drive, the cotunneling rate is calculated based the adiabatic and non-adiabatic tunneling model. The result shows that the cotunneling rate operated by the harmonic drive is larger than by the triangle drive in the case of adiabatic tunneling (i.e.

Adaptive Control of Harmonic Drives

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 2006
Aimed at achieving ultrahigh control performance for high-end applications of harmonic drives, an adaptive control algorithm using additional sensing, namely, the joint and motor positions and the joint torque, and their practically available time derivatives, is proposed.

Adaptive control of harmonic drives

2004 43rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37601), 2004
In this paper, an adaptive control algorithm is designed for controlling the harmonic drives used to drive robot manipulators. Direct torque measurement is available by using the flexspline mounted strain-gauges. The torque error is added to the required velocity.

Harmonic analysis of slip-power recovery drives

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1992
A method of evaluating harmonic currents and voltages associated with slip power recovery drives is presented. The rectifier commutation overlap and DC link current ripple are included in the analysis by using a hybrid between the traditional d-q and a-b-c induction motor models. The harmonic components are determined from closed-form expressions which

Optimal design of harmonic drive servo

2013 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics, 2013
Design of modern mechatronic systems can be an overwhelming task. The underlying difficulty lies in that several different engineering domains are combined in one product, creating integration issues. Commonly used design methodologies are based on optimizing the different domains separately; hence creating a sub optimized final system.

Torsional rigidity of harmonic gear drives

Russian Engineering Research, 2016
A model is proposed for harmonic gear drives. The model takes into account that harmonic engagement involves multiple pairs and multiple zones and also takes account of the manufacturing and assembly errors, the deformation of the drive components, and the adjustment of the gaps in the engagement under load.
