Simulation of surplus harmonics in selective harmonic elimination technique

2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation, 2016
Selective harmonic elimination technique can eliminate any order harmonics theoretically, but it is restricted by the initial value of switching angles and the switching speed of power device, therefore, it has surplus high-order harmonics. The surplus harmonics exist in the form of harmonics group, there is a window which harmonic wave amplitude close

Optimized SHE-PWAM with Maximum Harmonic Elimination and Minimum Switching Frequency for PEC9 Inverter

International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2020
This article introduces an Optimized SHE-Pulse Width and Amplitude Modulation (OSHE-PWAM) for single-DC source, single-phase nine-level Packed E-Cell (PEC9) to suppress maximum harmonic while switching frequency is minimized.

Harmonic Elimination Using DSTATCOM

2015
There has been an increasing awareness admits customers and utilities regarding superior quality and reliable electric power. The awareness has been triggered by a stupendous increase in the number of nonlinear loads such as power electronic devices. Due to nonlinear loads and low power factor the gravest power quality problems today are voltage sags ...

Inverter harmonic reduction using Walsh function harmonic elimination method

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1997
A pulse-width-modulated (PWM) inverter using the Walsh function harmonic elimination method is proposed in this paper. By using the Walsh domain waveform analytic technique, the harmonic amplitudes of the inverter output voltage can be expressed as functions of switching angles.

Elimination of harmonics of multiconverters

CCECE '97. Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Engineering Innovation: Voyage of Discovery. Conference Proceedings, 2002
The suppression of higher harmonics is realised due to the increase of the pulsation index p of multiconverters. Two principal methods are known of the increase of p: the method of introducing the angle of phase difference between the primaries and secondaries of the transformer feeding the converters, and the increase of the number of phases q ...

Generalized Techniques of Harmonic Elimination and Voltage Control in Thyristor Inverters: Part I--Harmonic Elimination

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1973
This paper considers the theoretical problem of eliminating harmonics in inverter-output waveforms. Generalized methods are developed for eliminating a fixed number of harmonics in the half-bridge and full-bridge inverter-output waveforms, and solutions are presented for eliminating up to five harmonics.

Current Injection Method to Eliminate Harmonics

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 1995
This article proposes a method to eliminate AC harmonic currents by injecting equal-but-opposite harmonic compensating currents. This method is applicable to any type of load considered a harmonic source. This article describes a system involving a hardware interface, a PC, and advanced software to measure, analyze, and report the condition of ...

A Hybrid Control Technique for Harmonic Elimination, Power Factor Correction, and Night Operation of a Grid-Connected PV Inverter

IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics, 2020
This article investigates a hybrid control scheme to grant multiple functions to a grid-connected PV inverter. This strategy guarantees constant energy supply independently of the intermittent nature of solar energy.

Eliminating harmonic neutral current problems

2008 IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition, 2008
Powering multiple computer loads connected phase-neutral in a 3-phase wye distribution system places exceptional thermal stresses on the switchgear, transformers and wiring of that system. The presence of harmonic currents can lead to equipment failures and, in the worst case, fires.
