Shortcuts to adiabaticity for an ion in a rotating radially-tight trap

open access: yes, 2016
We engineer the fast rotation of a quantum particle confined in an effectively one-dimensional, harmonic trap, for a predetermined rotation angle and time, avoiding final excitation.

Growth of Millimeter‐Sized BaTaO2N Single Crystals by an NH3‐Assisted BaCl2 Flux Method

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Millimeter‐sized BaTaO2N single crystals are successfully grown from a BaCl2 flux under NH3 flow. Their comprehensive characterization, including dielectric properties, is demonstrated, and the possible growth mechanisms are discussed. Abstract Perovskite‐type oxynitrides have attracted considerable attention due to their excellent photocatalytic ...

Excited Dirac stars with higher azimuthal harmonic index

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics
Abstract In this paper, we investigate the properties of the first excited state Dirac stars (DSs) with higher azimuthal harmonic index (specifically, the azimuthal harmonic indexes mD = 3/2, 5/2, 7/2), as well as the relationship between the ADM mass and angular momentum of Dirac stars with respect to frequency ...

The Dynamics of Interfacial Trap States in High‐Detectivity Near‐Infrared Photomultiplication Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photomultiplication organic photodetectors (PM OPDs) are an attractive strategy for health‐monitoring. Here, PM‐OPDs are reported with a specific detectivity of 5.7 × 1012 Jones and external quantum efficiency values of 3500% under −10 V. The dynamics of carrier trapping in these devices are elucidated through trap selective spectroscopical techniques.

Efficient continuous-wave nonlinear frequency conversion in high-Q Gallium Nitride photonic crystal cavities on Silicon

open access: yes, 2016
We report on nonlinear frequency conversion from the telecom range via second harmonic generation (SHG) and third harmonic generation (THG) in suspended gallium nitride slab photonic crystal (PhC) cavities on silicon, under continuous-wave resonant ...

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Role of femtosecond prestructure of intense harmonic pulses in relativistic laser-solid interactions

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Extreme intensity contrast is essential for ultraintense, femtosecond laser excitation of solids, in particular for studies with structured or ultrathin targets.

On the effect of acoustic coupling on random and harmonic plate vibrations [PDF]

open access: yes
The effect of acoustic coupling on random and harmonic plate vibrations is studied using two numerical models. In the coupled model, the plate response is obtained by integration of the nonlinear plate equation coupled with the nonlinear Euler equations ...
