Distribution transformer excitation harmonics
Electric Power Systems Research, 1989Abstract All identifiable sources of harmonics should be investigated and documented since harmonic content is increasing on power circuits. In this research 123 randomly selected 15, 25 and 50 kVA transformers were tested for total harmonic distortion (THD) and harmonic identification. Current data from each transformer was obtained at rated and 110%

Harmonic Golay coded excitation based on harmonic quadrature demodulation method
2008 30th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2008Harmonic coded excitation techniques have been used to increase SNR of harmonic imaging with limited peak voltage. Harmonic Golay coded excitation, in particular, generates each scan line using four transmit-receive cycles, unlike conventional Golay coded excitation method, thus resulting in low frame rates.

Coded excitation for ultrasound tissue harmonic imaging
Ultrasonics, 2010Coded excitation can improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in ultrasound tissue harmonic imaging (THI). However, it could suffer from the increased sidelobe artifact caused by incomplete pulse compression due to the spectral overlap between the fundamental and harmonic components of ultrasound signal after nonlinear propagation in tissues.

Impacting under harmonic excitation
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1979Abstract The steady state response of a one dimensional linear oscillator impacting under harmonic excitation on to rigid obstructions with a coefficient of velocity restitution is investigated. Numerical experiments are discussed and an expression of the steady state velocity for one sided impacting is derived.

Harmonic excitation of bolted joints
2023Bolted joints provide one of the most common means of joining two structural components together. The joints themselves use friction to transmit force, torque and motion across a common interface from one component to another. In many cases a pretensioned bolt, running through a common hole at the joint interface, provides the clamping force.

Parasitic excitation of fundamental-cyclotron-harmonic waves in high-harmonic gyrotrons
Physics of Plasmas, 2021A typical problem of the development of high-harmonic short-wavelength gyrotrons, namely, the competition between the operating wave and a parasitic fundamental-harmonic wave, is studied. A specific case of the excitation of a far-from-cutoff parasitic wave in the backward-wave oscillator regime is considered.
