Ultra-broadband enhancement of nonlinear optical processes from randomly patterned super absorbing metasurfaces

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Broadband light trapping and field localization is highly desired in enhanced light-matter interaction, especially in harmonic generations. However, due to the limited resonant bandwidth, most periodic plasmonic nanostructures cannot cover both ...

Dark soliton states of Bose-Einstein condensates in anisotropic traps

open access: yes, 2000
Dark soliton states of Bose-Einstein condensates in harmonic traps are studied both analytically and computationally by the direct solution of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation in three dimensions.

The Dynamics of Interfacial Trap States in High‐Detectivity Near‐Infrared Photomultiplication Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photomultiplication organic photodetectors (PM OPDs) are an attractive strategy for health‐monitoring. Here, PM‐OPDs are reported with a specific detectivity of 5.7 × 1012 Jones and external quantum efficiency values of 3500% under −10 V. The dynamics of carrier trapping in these devices are elucidated through trap selective spectroscopical techniques.

Black soliton in a quasi-one-dimensional trapped fermion-fermion mixture

open access: yes, 2006
Employing a time-dependent mean-field-hydrodynamic model we study the generation of black solitons in a degenerate fermion-fermion mixture in a cigar-shaped geometry using variational and numerical solutions.

Stability of a horizontal viscous fluid layer in a vertical time periodic electric field

open access: yes, 2017
The stability of a horizontal interface between two viscous fluids, one of which is conducting and the other is dielectric, acted upon by a vertical time-periodic electric field is considered.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Enhancing local ionization in micro-gap atmospheric discharge

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Enhancement of local ionization in micro-gap atmospheric dielectric barrier discharges is achieved experimentally via spatiotemporal control combining geometric confinement and harmonic excitation, namely adding a second-order harmonic to the applied ...
