Nonlinear Impedances (Higher Harmonics)
2013When linear electrical elements are used in circuits, the measured impedances are independent of the amplitude of the ac perturbation. However, in electrochemistry, the electrical equivalent parameters related to the kinetics, diffusion, and other aspects are nonlinear because the current is a nonlinear function of the applied potential. In such cases,

Harmonic analysis of nerve impedance in situ
Biochemistry (Moscow) Supplement Series A: Membrane and Cell Biology, 2012A novel technique to assess electric activity of the whole nerve in situ is advanced based on harmonic analysis of impedance microvariations of femoral nerve in narcotized rats recorded with extracellular electrodes. The amplitude spectrum of nerve bioimpedance (Z-spectrum) made it possible to determine the level of neural asynchronous activity in the ...

Harmonic impedance measurement using three-phase transients
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1998In this paper, a technique is presented for measuring the harmonic impedances of an unbalanced three-phase distribution feeder. The technique uses transients in bus voltages and feeder currents generated by several close-trip operations of the shunt capacitor bank.

Harmonic impedance of single-core armored cables
2003 IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37495), 2004Single-core armored cables are frequently used for power distribution in large buildings. Because of the concern of safety, the armors of these cables are normally bonded and connected to earth. This, however, may create overheating problems or others when the cables carry rich harmonic currents.

Harmonic impedance and harmonic source determination based on field measurements
2010Harmonic impedance characterizes the voltage response of a power system when it is subjected to the influence of high-frequency currents. The impedance is a key parameter of a power network and must be known to diagnose power system problems caused by high-frequency disturbances and to design disturbance-mitigation measures.

Harmonic Impedance Response Of Electrical Algerian Network
2019 Algerian Large Electrical Network Conference (CAGRE), 2019this paper investigates the impedance behavior of the large electrical power system with consideration of the capacitor bank and multiple nonlinear loads. Two methods have been used to predict the harmonic problems under these non sinusoidal conditions, which are the harmonic power flow and frequency scan. Both methods have been applied to the Algerian

Probabilistic Modeling of Harmonic Impedances
2009In the previous chaptermodels for probabilistic network analysis were considered assuming, for simplicity sake, the network component impedances remain constant. This assumption can be justified by the complexity of taking into account the time variance of the network configuration and the existing correlations present; the assumption is near to be ...

Measurement of Grid Impedance at Harmonic Frequencies
2018 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM 2018), 2018The importance of impedance measurements in electricity grids at harmonic frequencies is discussed along with the measurement challenges. The potential use of infrequent disturbance events such as transients for harmonic signals to excite the measurement circuit is discussed.
