Bloch Point in the Domain Wall of a Cylindrical Ferromagnetic Nanowire as a Harmonic Oscillator: Classical and Quantum Properties

open access: yesУспехи физики металлов
The oscillatory properties (both classical and quantum ones) of the Bloch point (BP) in the domain wall of a cylindrical ferromagnetic nanowire are reviewed.

Multiscale Architecture and Mechanics of the Cell Nucleus: Implications for Disease, Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.

Microsphere‐Modulated Sensing‐in‐Energy Supercapacitor With Self‐Filtering Ultra‐Large Signal Under High‐g Shocks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To overcome severe signal oscillation under extreme impact conditions, this work presents a Sensing‐in‐Energy microdevice which integrates a MEMS inertial structure directly within a supercapacitor electrolyte cavity. Utilizing shock‐driven transient contact and electrolyte damping for signal self‐filtering, it achieves weak‐oscillation, large ...

V2CTx MXene as a Sacrificial Promoter for NiFe Catalyst for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings demonstrate that V2CTx functions beyond passive conductive support as an active electronic participant whose structural legacy sustains durable performance even after vanadium leaching in Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) Electrolysers. ABSTRACT Nickel‐iron layered double hydroxides (NiFe‐LDH) show excellent activity, their poor conductivity

01 Harmonic Oscillations

open access: yes, 2014
Everyone has seen waves on water, heard sound waves and seen light waves. But, what exactly is a wave? Of course, the goal of this course is to answer this question for you. But for now you can think of a wave as a traveling or oscillatory disturbance in

Large‐Scale Growth of Self‐Poled Ferroelectric Rashba Semiconductor α‐GeTe(111) Thin Films: A Crucial Step Towards Future CMOS‐Compatible Ferroelectric Spintronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric Rashba semiconductors promise ultralow‐power devices but lack industry‐quality films. This work demonstrates CMOS‐compatible fabrication of high‐quality α‐GeTe(111) films via magnetron sputtering, enabled by a 5 nm Sb2Te3 seed layer. Structural and ferroelectric analyses show robust, switchable polarization comparable to MBE films, paving

Compact Tabletop Magnetic Resonance Elastography for Mapping Soft Tissue Viscoelasticity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a compact, low‐cost tabletop magnetic resonance elastography platform for high‐resolution viscoelastic mapping in soft‐tissue specimens. Using this method in human colorectal liver metastases, we demonstrate fully automated biomechanical profiling of treatment response and show that heterogeneity‐based metrics outperform ...

3D Non-Isotropic Oscillations

open access: yes, 2020
We study the paths of motion of harmonic oscillators on three dimensional space. The general description of this motion is well studied and presented in upper division mechanics textbooks and it is well-known that the so called commensurate condition for

Imaging Electric Polarization Switching in Multilayer Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Domain wall sliding‐induced electric polarization switching is directly observed for the first time in multilayer graphene, enabled by a novel optical readout method. The polarization switching is realized upon application of global and local electric fields, and mechanical forces between neighboring polar domains of opposite out‐of‐plane polarizations

Observation of higher harmonic coronal loop oscillations

open access: yes, 2007
A sequence of TRACE 171 angstrom observations taken on 2001 May 13 shows evidence of flare-induced, transverse coronal loop oscillations. We revisit this particular data set and present evidence of the presence of spatially resolved higher harmonics in ...
