The role of current loop in harmonic generation from magnetic metamaterials in two polarizations

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we investigate the role of the current loop in the generation of second and third harmonic signals from magnetic metamaterials. We will show that the fact that the current loop in the magnetic resonance acts as a source for nonlinear ...

Ubiquitous Antiparallel Domains in 2D Hexagonal Boron Nitride Uncovered by Interferometric Nonlinear Optical Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Interferometric second‐harmonic generation (SHG) imaging reveals the ubiquitous formation of antiparallel domains in CVD‐grown 2D hexagonal boron nitride. By resolving lattice orientation and SHG phase, hidden domain structures and disorder become visible over large areas. The SHG intensity quantitatively tracks crystalline quality across growth routes,

Hybrid resonance of Maxwell's equations in slab geometry

open access: yes, 2014
Hybrid resonance is a physical mechanism for the heating of a magnetic plasma. In our context hybrid resonance is a solution of the time harmonic Maxwell's equations with smooth coefficients, where the dielectric tensor is a non diagonal hermitian matrix.

Harmonic generation in silicon nitride ring resonators

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
We demonstrate second- and third-harmonic generation in a centrosymmetric CMOS-compatible material using ring resonators and integrated optical waveguides. The χ(2) response is induced by using the nanoscale structure of the waveguide to break the bulk symmetry of silicon nitride (Si3N4) with the silicon dioxide (SiO2) cladding.

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Effect of Kondo resonance on optical third harmonic generation

open access: yes, 2006
We use the method of dynamical mean field thoery, to study the effect of Kondo resonance on optical third harmonic generation (THG) spectra of strongly correlated systems across the metal-insulator transition. We find that THG signals are proportional to

Enabling Real‐Time, Non‐Ionizing 3D Imaging of Implantable Magnetic Cements Using Magnetic Particle Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study reports the first implantable resin cement capable of orientation‐sensitive Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI). By coating the cement with an ultrathin iron film, the authors achieve a strong, angle‐dependent MPI signal that enables non‐ionizing, real‐time tracking of both implant position and orientation, opening new possibilities for safe ...

Application of Quasi Proportional Resonance Control Algorithm in Three-phase Inverter Power

open access: yes机车电传动, 2020
Nonlinear loads introduce harmonics into the three-phase inverter power system, which damages the electrical equipment. In order to reduce the harmonic content of the inverter output voltage, a harmonic suppression method based on the quasi-proportional ...

Charge Transfer States in Donor–Acceptor Bulk‐Heterojunctions as Triplet–Triplet Annihilation Sensitizer for Solid‐State Photon Upconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A near‐infrared photosensitizer that facilitates efficient solid‐state photon upconversion by recycling triplets formed within a fullerene‐based donor–acceptor bulk‐heterojunction system is demonstrated. Spectroscopic investigations reveal that the energy of photogenerated charge transfer states of triplet character (3CT) is subsequently transferred to
