A Study on the Harmonic Resonance during Energizing Primary Restorative Transmission Systems: Korean Power System Case

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In this paper, a power system restoration study following a massive or complete blackout was performed. The power system restoration process from a complete shutdown system without the operating generation and load starts with energizing primary ...

Assessing High-Order Harmonic Resonance in Locomotive-Network Based on the Impedance Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Many new types of locomotives are put to use in electric railway systems, resulting in instability problems such as high-order harmonic resonance occurring as a consequence of the interaction between the electrical locomotive (including electrical ...

Higher-order harmonic induced wave resonance for two side-by-side boxes in close proximity

open access: yesThe Physics of Fluids, 2021
Wave resonance in a narrow gap formed by two boxes in the side-by-side arrangement is investigated by employing a numerical wave flume based on the OpenFOAM® package.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Harmonic impedance optimization scheme for multi‐resonance systems to suppress resonance

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution
Harmonic resonance is caused by harmonic source matching resonance frequency and presents the characteristics of decentralization and whole network in modern grids.

Investigation of the Influence of Splitter Blades on the Resonance Conditions of Impellers

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The conventional resonance conditions are derived based on the conventionally designed impellers without splitter blades. This paper proposes the resonance conditions for impellers under the excitation from the impeller−diffuser interaction with ...

Feshbach resonance scattering under cylindrical harmonic confinement

open access: yes, 2004
A problem of collisions of atoms with two-channel zero-range interaction in an atomic waveguide is solved by using of a renormalization procedure. A matching of the solution to a solution of the related one-dimensional problem leads to relation between ...

How harmonic is dipole resonance of metal clusters? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We discuss the degree of anharmonicity of dipole plasmon resonances in metal clusters. We employ the time-dependent variational principle and show that the relative shift of the second phonon scales as $N^{-4/3}$ in energy, $N$ being the number of ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Are giant resonances harmonic vibrations? [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1996
Abstract We investigate the non-linear response of a quantum anharmonic oscillator as a model for the excitation of giant resonances in heavy ion collisions. We show that the introduction of small anharmonicities and non-linearities can double the predicted cross section for the excitation of the two-phonon states.
