Are giant resonances harmonic vibrations? [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1996
Abstract We investigate the non-linear response of a quantum anharmonic oscillator as a model for the excitation of giant resonances in heavy ion collisions. We show that the introduction of small anharmonicities and non-linearities can double the predicted cross section for the excitation of the two-phonon states.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Investigation of the Influence of Splitter Blades on the Resonance Conditions of Impellers

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The conventional resonance conditions are derived based on the conventionally designed impellers without splitter blades. This paper proposes the resonance conditions for impellers under the excitation from the impeller−diffuser interaction with ...

Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas in Children and Adolescents: Expert Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas (SPN) is a rare low‐grade malignant exocrine pancreatic tumor, mostly discovered during the second decade of life in females, with a very good prognosis, provided microscopically complete surgical excision is achieved.

Two-to-one resonant multi-modal dynamics of horizontal/inclined cables. Part I : theoretical formulation and model validation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper is first of the two papers dealingwith analytical investigation of resonant multimodal dynamics due to 2:1 internal resonances in the finite-amplitude free vibrations of horizontal/inclined cables. Part I deals with theoretical formulation and

Research on horizontal nonlinear sub-harmonic vibration characteristics and stability control of rolling mill roll system

open access: yesScientific Reports
In this paper, the main content is analyzing the combined resonance characteristics of the roller system. Firstly, established a horizontal nonlinear vibration model with fractional-order by considering the nonlinear stiffness and nonlinear damping ...

Ovarian Sex Cord Stromal Tumors in Children and Adolescents—The European Standard Clinical Practice Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As part of the European Cooperative Study Group for Paediatric Rare Tumours initiative, we developed standard clinical practice guidelines for ovarian sex cord stromal tumors, based on comprehensive national and international cohort analyses, literature review, and a final expert consensus conference.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
