Harmonic Distortion State Estimation Using an Evolutionary Strategy [PDF]
This paper presents a new methodology to estimate harmonic distortions in a power system, based on measurements of a limited number of given sites. The algorithm utilizes evolutionary strategies (ES), a development branch of evolutionary algorithms.

A Compressive Sensing Based Method for Harmonic State Estimation
Power quality monitoring has become a vital need in modern power systems owing to the need for agile operation and troubleshooting scheme. On the other hand, the nature of load in modern power system is changing in many ways. Digital loads, which are mostly relied on power electronic equipment, may distort the quality of power flowing through the ...

A Robust and Low Computational Cost Pitch Estimation Method
Pitch estimation is widely used in speech and audio signal processing. However, the current methods of modeling harmonic structure used for pitch estimation cannot always match the harmonic distribution of actual signals.

Analysis of least-squares state estimators for a harmonic oscillator
The concept of least-squares observer is revisited. Robustness properties of this class of observers with respect to norm-bounded measurement noise are investigated and shown to be very much dependent on the operator chosen for the observer implementation.
