ECG interference suppressed using a harmonic generator

Australasian Physics & Engineering Sciences in Medicine, 2009
Non-linear loading of the utilities supply introduced significant electromagnetic field (EMF) interference severe enough to disrupt electrocardiograph (ECG) monitoring and recordings in the new Emergency Department (ED) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH).

Suppression of higher harmonics at noise induced resonances

Physical Review E, 1995
We consider the generation of higher harmonics in periodically driven noisy nonlinear systems. Recent numerical studies of higher harmonics in such systems have shown so-called noise induced resonances that manifest themselves in a strong suppression of higher harmonics at certain values of the noise level.

Differential RF Phase Shifter With Harmonic Suppression

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2014
For the first time, a differential phase shifter with harmonic suppression is proposed. Not only does the proposed structure provide a constant differential phase shift over a wide bandwidth, but it also has good harmonic rejection. Compared to the existing coupled-line phase shifters, the proposed stub-loaded transmission line configurations show good

Single mode ring resonator with harmonic suppression

2014 14th International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies (ISCIT), 2014
A single-side-access ring resonator for bandpass filter is presented. The characteristics of the resonator were investigated in terms of width and gap of the ring line and coupled-lines on microstrip. It is found that the frequency response and bandwidth of the resonator can be controlled by controlling the width and gap of the ring elements.

Modeling and harmonic suppression for power distribution systems

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2003
Expansion of voltage distortions along power distribution systems, which is referred to as the harmonic propagation, is pointed out. This is caused by the LC resonances between the distribution line inductances and the power capacitors. This paper presents a modeling and harmonic suppression procedure for power distribution systems.

New Harmonic-Distortion-Suppression Method

2011
This section presents a method to improve the linearity of current steering (CS) digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The method uses unary functional segmentation to create redundant D/A functions, defined around nominally identical sub-DAC entities. Further, the method uses a digital pre-processor to create phase shifted replicas of the input signal ...

Suppression of laser spiking by intracavity second harmonic generation

Applied Optics, 1989
Laser spiking in a long pulse Nd:YAG laser has been substantially suppressed by intracavity second harmonic generation with very little loss of laser pulse energy.

A Fundamental Suppression Type Harmonic Analyzer

Proceedings of the IRE, 1936
The principles and design of an harmonic analyzer of novel form are described. The analyzer operates by suppressing the fundamental and passing the harmonics through an amplifier with a calibrated gain control to a cathode-ray oscillograph or vacuum tube voltmeter. The apparatus is designed for analysis of audio-frequency oscillations but could be used
