Comparison of Harmonic Suppression Techniques

2019 12th International Workshop on the Electromagnetic Compatibility of Integrated Circuits (EMC Compo), 2019
To reduce electromagnetic emissions in AM band, harmonic suppression techniques are implemented on the IC level. Literature on harmonic suppression techniques like Digital Harmonic Cancellation and Selective Harmonic Elimination are available in abundance. These techniques are generally employed in low frequency domain (50 Hz line inverters).

New Harmonic-Distortion-Suppression Method

2011
This section presents a method to improve the linearity of current steering (CS) digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The method uses unary functional segmentation to create redundant D/A functions, defined around nominally identical sub-DAC entities. Further, the method uses a digital pre-processor to create phase shifted replicas of the input signal ...

ECG interference suppressed using a harmonic generator

Australasian Physics & Engineering Sciences in Medicine, 2009
Non-linear loading of the utilities supply introduced significant electromagnetic field (EMF) interference severe enough to disrupt electrocardiograph (ECG) monitoring and recordings in the new Emergency Department (ED) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH).

Harmonics Suppression using Dominant Harmonic Injection Based Control Technique

2019 International Conference on Sensing, Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Control (SDPC), 2019
Harmonics play a vital role in affecting the performance of all electrical systems. Passive filters were used to suppress these harmonics, despite the associated problems such as parallel and series resonance. Recently, active power filters were introduced to overcome the drawbacks of passive filters.

Reconfigurable harmonic suppressed fractal dipole antenna

2012 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, 2012
A small active frequency reconfigurable Koch dipole antenna is presented with harmonic suppression capability. Open circuit stub is coupled to the antenna's terminal and the tapered balun. Three pairs of diodes are used for tuning purposes. The first prototype can be tuned at 722.7 MHz, 809 MHz, 1050.5 MHz, and 2361.5 MHz, respectively.

A ground slot for harmonic suppression

2012 15 International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics, 2012
In ultra low power RF energy harvesting circuits, it is required that incident power is handled efficiently. One such requirement is to avoid re-radiation of higher order harmonics generated in the single or two diode rectenna. In this paper, a ground slot is proposed to eliminate the higher order harmonic resonance, while ensuring a fixed fundamental ...

Waffle-Iron Harmonic Suppression Filter (Correspondence)

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1965
Essentially, waffle-iron filters are waveguide low-pass filters with wide stop bands above their pass bands. The L-band waffle-iron filter discussed in this correspondence was originally developed at the Stanford Research Institute, Menlo Park, CA, USA. Subsequent reports and modifications have been presented by Young and Schiffman [1963].

Compact microstrip harmonic‐suppressed quadrature hybrids

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2009
AbstractIn this article, compact 3‐dB branch‐line hybrids with harmonic suppression are presented. In comparison to the conventional hybrids, the proposed ones achieve two features: compactness and harmonic suppression. Two hybrids, one with third harmonic suppression and the other with third and fifth harmonics suppression, are designed, fabricated ...

The designated harmonic suppression for SPWM

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
SPWM is a critical method used in asynchronous motor-driven area. But harmonic components of inverter output wave impair its application in motor speed control. A new mixed algorithm was proposed for SPWM, which was a designated harmonic suppression technology by way of improved regular sampling in low voltage and low frequency and harmonic ...

Performance Analysis of Harmonic Suppression Techniques

2021
The nature of the industrial loads has been reforming with advancements in technology and revolutions in industries. Since numerous amounts of power electronic devices and drives such as converters, inverters and soft switching drives are used in modern power systems and most of the industrial loads are nonlinear, these induce a considerable amount of ...
