Delocalized Supergravity Solutions for Brane/Anti-brane Systems and their Bound States [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We obtain various solutions for D=4 dipoles and their bound states whose U(1) fields originate from various form fields in the effective string theories.

Nine-phase armature windings design, test and harmonic analysis [PDF]

open access: yes2004 12th Symposium on Electromagnetic Launch Technology, 2004., 2005
A nine-phase armature winding was developed for a large generator. Alternative methods for interconnecting the pole-phase groups were examined. An alternate-pole connection scheme was adopted and a prototype induction motor was constructed to confirm the winding scheme.

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Phase Winding a Two-Component BEC in an Elongated Trap: Experimental Observation of Moving Magnetic Orders and Dark-bright Solitons

open access: yes, 2013
We experimentally investigate the phase winding dynamics of a harmonically trapped two-component BEC subject to microwave induced Rabi oscillations between two pseudospin components.

Reconfigurable Three‐Dimensional Superconducting Nanoarchitectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
3D superconducting nanostructures offer new possibilities for emergent physical phenomena. However, fabricating complex geometries remains challenging. Here 3D nanoprinting of complex 3D superconducting nanoarchitectures is established. As well as propagating superconducting vortices in 3D, anisotropic superconducting properties with geometric ...

On the Stability of Compactified D=11 Supermembranes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We prove D=11 supermembrane theories wrapping around in an irreducible way over $S^{1} \times S^{1}\times M^{9}$ on the target manifold, have a hamiltonian with strict minima and without infinite dimensional valleys at the minima for the bosonic sector ...

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Worldsheet Instanton Corrections to the Kaluza-Klein Monopole

open access: yes, 2005
The Kaluza-Klein monopole is a well known object in both gravity and string theory, related by T-duality to a "smeared" NS5-brane which retains the isometry around the duality circle.

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.
