Survival exploration strategies for Harris Hawks Optimizer

Expert Systems With Applications, 2021
Abstract This paper proposes new versions of Harris Hawks Optimizer (HHO) incorporated the survival-of-the-fittest principle of evolutionary algorithms. HHO is the recent swarm-based optimization algorithm imitating the surprise pounce behaviour of Harris’ hawks chasing style. HHO can show different patterns of the exploration and exploitation.

Harris hawks optimization: Algorithm and applications [PDF]

open access: yesFuture Generation Computer Systems, 2019
Abstract In this paper, a novel population-based, nature-inspired optimization paradigm is proposed, which is called Harris Hawks Optimizer (HHO). The main inspiration of HHO is the cooperative behavior and chasing style of Harris’ hawks in nature called surprise pounce.

Harris Hawks Optimization for the Efficient Reconfiguration of Distribution Networks

2021 29th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED), 2021
Improving the efficiency of distribution networks (DNs) is nowadays a challenging objective for modern power grids equipped with distributed generation and storage. In this context, the so-called network reconfiguration problem can be solved to obtain the optimal DN topology that minimizes the total power losses, while ensuring the voltage profile ...

Compact Harris Hawks Optimization Algorithm

2021 40th Chinese Control Conference (CCC), 2021
The intelligent optimization algorithm performs well in solving complex optimization problems in engineering. However, the intelligent optimization algorithm usually takes long execution time and large memory usage, which is not suitable for the engineering with limited hardware conditions.

Hierarchical Harris hawks optimization for epileptic seizure classification

Computers in Biology and Medicine, 2022
The intelligent recognition of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals is a valuable tool for epileptic seizure classification. Given that visual inspection of EEG signals is time-consuming, and that mutant signals dramatically increase the workload of neurologists, automatic epilepsy diagnosis systems are extremely helpful.

Crisscross Harris Hawks Optimizer for Global Tasks and Feature Selection

open access: yesJournal of Bionic Engineering, 2022
Harris Hawks Optimizer (HHO) is a recent well-established optimizer based on the hunting characteristics of Harris hawks, which shows excellent efficiency in solving a variety of optimization issues. However, it undergoes weak global search capability because of the levy distribution in its optimization process.

An intensify Harris Hawks optimizer for numerical and engineering optimization problems

Applied Soft Computing, 2020
Abstract Recently developed Harris Hawks Optimization has virtuous behavior for finding optimum solution in search space. However, it easily get trapped into local search space for constrained engineering optimization problems. In order to accelerate the global search phase of existing Harris Hawks optimizer and to stuck it out of local search space,

Modified Harris Hawks Optimizer for Solving Machine Scheduling Problems [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2020
Scheduling can be described as a decision-making process. It is applied in various applications, such as manufacturing, airports, and information processing systems. More so, the presence of symmetry is common in certain types of scheduling problems. There are three types of parallel machine scheduling problems (PMSP): uniform, identical, and unrelated
