Asymmetric Whisker‐Inspired Sensor Pairs for Enhanced Airflow Sensing on Drones

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work incorporates asymmetric cross‐sections into a whisker‐inspired sensor pair to enhance airflow sensing. By comparing signals between two offset asymmetric whiskers, the system improves flow heading estimation and identifies the presence of fan‐generated wind during quadrotor flight.

De Novo 2.2 Mb 19q13.42–q13.43 Microdeletion Encompassing U2AF2: Support for a Haploinsufficiency Model

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT U2 small nuclear RNA auxiliary factor 2 (U2AF2) is an essential pre‐mRNA splicing factor involved in the early stages of pre‐mRNA splicing. To date, multiple individuals have been reported with predominantly heterozygous missense variants presenting intellectual disability, speech and motor delays, seizures, hypotonia, and thin or hypoplastic ...

Axisymmetric Natural Convection of Liquid Metal in an Annular Enclosure under the Influence of Azimuthal Magnetic Field

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Natural convection of liquid metal in an annular enclosure under the influence of azimuthal static magnetic field was numerically studied. The liquid metal in the enclosure whose cross-sectional area is square was heated from an inner vertical wall and ...

Numerical simulations for mixed convective hydromagnetic peristaltic flow in a curved channel with joule heating features

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
This article investigates the flow and mass transportation characteristics in the peristaltic motion configured by a heated curved channel. The coupling between momentum and energy equation is achieved using the Boussinesq approximation.

Pracaxi Oil as a Potential Inhibitor of Fat Bloom

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fat bloom is one of the major technological challenges faced by the chocolate industry, caused by the polymorphic transition from β2(V) to β1(VI) crystals in cocoa butter (CB). One strategy to slow down this polymorphic transition is the addition of lipids rich in very long chain fatty acids (VLCFA), such as behenic acid.

Chronic wound debridement with hydroclean dressings

open access: yesАмбулаторная хирургия, 2017
Due to the specific pathophysiological state of tissues in the chronic wounds and frequent limitations on the part of the patient the complex treatment of such wounds or wound debridement becomes quite a complicated therapeutic task.
