Institutional Diversity in Banking and Economic Complexity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we test whether institutional diversity in banking systems is beneficial to economic complexity, using data for Italian provinces in the period 1998–2017. We compute different indexes that consider diversity from an ownership, institutional, business model and competition point of view and find that higher diversity has a ...

Anchored preferences: How reference price formats shape consumer willingness to pay for familiar and unfamiliar labels

open access: yesJournal of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, EarlyView.
Abstract Accurate estimates of consumer willingness to pay (WTP) are crucial in applied economic research. Rather than examining reference prices themselves, this study investigates how reference price formats affect willingness to pay (WTP) for labeled foods using national survey data by applying the Contingent Valuation Method and Seemingly Unrelated

The Impact of Genetic Polymorphisms on Genotoxicity (DNA Damage) Among Children Exposed to Environmental Mutagens: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Children, as a particularly vulnerable group, are more susceptible to these mutagens due to their developing immune systems, higher physiological vulnerability, and increased exposure through behaviors like outdoor play and hand‐to‐mouth activities. This review aims to investigate the relationship between these environmental exposures, genetic

Cellular Toxicity of Short‐ and Long‐Term Exposures to Polystyrene Nanoplastics and Microplastics in Fish Skin Cell Derived From Fathead Minnow (Pimephales promelas)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ubiquitous presence of microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) is raising concerns about their impact on the health of humans and other living organisms. Due to its tiny size, this particle can accumulate and circulate in the body after uptake, resulting in a variety of harmful outcomes on the organism, such as increased oxidative stress and

Synthetic diversity: Racial depictions influence consumer responses to AI‐generated models in advertising

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract As brands seek to increase racial representation in their advertising, many are turning to AI‐generated images of humans (i.e., synthetic models) as a scalable solution. This research demonstrates that consumer reactions to synthetic models are asymmetric, depending on the racial identity being depicted.
