A Systematic Overview of Caching Mechanisms to Improve Hadoop Performance

open access: yesConcurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Volume 37, Issue 25-26, 30 November 2025.
ABSTRACT In today's distributed computing environments, the rapid generation of large‐scale data from diverse sources poses significant challenges in terms of storage, management, and processing, particularly for traditional relational databases. Hadoop has emerged as a widely adopted framework for handling such data through parallel processing across ...

Associations of Graded Chronic Non‐Cancer Pain Severity With Well‐Being and Modifiable Lifestyle Behaviour: Findings From a Danish Population‐Based Cross‐Sectional Survey

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 29, Issue 10, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background The Graded Chronic Pain Scale‐Revised (GCPS‐R) framework enables a standardised measure of disease severity and was incorporated into the national disease surveillance in Denmark in 2023. Novel dose–response associations between GCPS‐R‐systemised disease severity, general health, well‐being, and modifiable lifestyle behaviour were ...

pTx‐Pulseq in hybrid sequences: Accessible and advanced hybrid open‐source MRI sequences on Philips scanners

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 5, Page 1946-1962, November 2025.
Abstract Purpose To enhance the accessibility of advanced pulse sequences, or parts thereof, through the open‐source Pulseq framework. This work extends the Pulseq framework to Philips MRI systems and incorporates dynamic parallel‐transmit (pTx) capabilities within the constraints of the existing Pulseq format.

Modeling the effect of in‐plane magnetic field gradients on asymmetric spin‐echo images with echo‐planar imaging readout

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 5, Page 2086-2099, November 2025.
Abstract Purpose To describe the impact of macroscopic magnetic field gradients (MFGs) in the phase‐encoding direction on MR images acquired with an asymmetric spin echo (ASE) sequence with echo‐planar imaging (EPI) readout. Methods In EPI, the center of k‐space is read out at a shifted time point in the presence of phase‐encoding direction MFGs.

Bridging the Gap: Achieving Seamless Interoperability Between Ethereum‐Based Blockchains Using Inter‐Blockchain Communication Protocols

open access: yesSoftware: Practice and Experience, Volume 55, Issue 11, Page 1749-1772, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction The popularization of blockchain‐based applications made evident a critical challenge, namely the inherent isolation of these decentralized systems, akin to the disconnected and technologically diverse local area networks of the 1970s. This lack of interoperability limits the potential for widespread adoption and innovation in the
