Belleten, 1958 Hatay vilayeti dahilinde ilk Paleolitik kalıntılar 1943 yılında Nurettin Can tarafından Antakya şehrinin kenarında bulunmuştur. Bunu W. J. McCallien'in İskenderun bölgesinin güneyinde satıhta bulduğu bir Paleolitik alet takip etmiştir. Kılıç Kökten'in haritasında bu buluntu Lövaluvazo- Musteriyen olarak işaretlenmiştir.
