Hausdorff compactifications [PDF]

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2021
Previously, the authors used the insights of Robinson's non-standard analysis as a powerful tool to extend and simplify the construction of some compactifications of regular spaces. They now show that any Hausdorff compactification is obtainable with their method.

Hausdorff Coalgebras

open access: yesApplied Categorical Structures, 2020
As composites of constant, (co)product, identity, and powerset functors, Kripke polynomial functors form a relevant class of $\mathsf{Set}$-functors in the theory of coalgebras. The main goal of this paper is to expand the theory of limits in categories of coalgebras of Kripke polynomial functors to the context of quantale-enriched categories.

Hausdorff and Gromov-Hausdorff Stable Subsets of the Medial Axis

open access: yesProceedings of the 55th Annual ACM Symposium on Theory of Computing, 2023
In this paper we introduce a pruning of the medial axis called the $(λ,α)$-medial axis ($\textrm{ax}_λ^α$). We prove that the $(λ,α)$-medial axis of a set $K$ is stable in a Gromov-Hausdorff sense under weak assumptions. More formally we prove that if $K$ and $K'$ are close in the Hausdorff ($d_H$) sense then the $(λ,α)$-medial axes of $K$ and $K'$ are

The Complexity of the Hausdorff Distance

open access: yesDiscrete & Computational Geometry, 2023
AbstractWe investigate the computational complexity of computing the Hausdorff distance. Specifically, we show that the decision problem of whether the Hausdorff distance of two semi-algebraic sets is bounded by a given threshold is complete for the complexity class $${ \forall \exists _{<}\mathbb {R}} $$ ∀

Pre-Hausdorff and Hausdorff proximity spaces

open access: yesFilomat, 2017
In this paper, an explicit characterization of the separation properties for T0, T1, PreT2 (pre-Hausdorff) and T2 (Hausdorff) is given in the topological category of proximity spaces. Moreover, specific relationships that arise among the various Ti,i = 0,1,2 and PreT2 structures are examined in this category.

Molecular structure of fac-[Mo(CO)3(DMSO)3]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2021
The title compound, tricarbonyltris(dimethyl sulfoxide)molybdenum, [Mo(C2H6OS)3(CO)3] or fac-[Mo(CO)3(DMSO)3], crystallizes in the triclinic space group P\overline{1} with two molecules in the unit cell.

GAN‐LSTM‐3D: An efficient method for lung tumour 3D reconstruction enhanced by attention‐based LSTM

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Three‐dimensional (3D) image reconstruction of tumours can visualise their structures with precision and high resolution. In this article, GAN‐LSTM‐3D method is proposed for 3D reconstruction of lung cancer tumours from 2D CT images. Our method consists of three phases: lung segmentation, tumour segmentation, and tumour 3D reconstruction. Lung

Multi-Oxidant Environment as a Suicidal Inhibitor of Myeloperoxidase

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2023
Tissue inflammation drives the infiltration of innate immune cells that generate reactive species to kill bacteria and recruit adaptive immune cells. Neutrophil activation fosters the release of myeloperoxidase (MPO) enzyme, a heme-containing protein ...

Computational modeling of consistent observation of asynchronous distributed computation on N–manifold

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2018
The present-day distributed computing systems are asynchronous in nature, and they cover heterogeneous nodes as well as networks having geographic distribution scale.
