The Quantum Gromov-Hausdorff Propinquity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We introduce the quantum Gromov-Hausdorff propinquity, a new distance between quantum compact metric spaces, which extends the Gromov-Hausdorff distance to noncommutative geometry and strengthens Rieffel's quantum Gromov-Hausdorff distance and Rieffel's ...

Banach-Hausdorff Limits [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1950
whence a Banach limit of a convergent sequence is the ordinary limit. Designating the class of regular Hausdorff2 transformations by we term L(x) a Banach-Hausdorff (B-H) functional or limit if in addition to (I)-(IV) it satisfies (V) L(Hx) = L(x) (H C ) The corresponding regularity property of B-H limits then takes the form: If the bounded sequence x ...

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Replacing DMF by Cyrene™ drives the syntheses of pentathiepines towards sustainability, conveniency, and/or higher yields

open access: yesTetrahedron Green Chem
Building on previous efforts in optimizing the synthesis of 1,2,3,4,5-pentathiepino[6,7-a]indolizines mediated by the molybdenum oxo bistetrasulfido complex, this study advances the respective preparation procedures by introducing an environmentally ...

Major Determinants of Airway Epithelial Cell Sensitivity to S. aureus Alpha-Toxin: Disposal of Toxin Heptamers by Extracellular Vesicle Formation and Lysosomal Degradation

open access: yesToxins, 2021
Alpha-toxin is a major virulence factor of Staphylococcus aureus. Monomer binding to host cell membranes results in the formation of heptameric transmembrane pores. Among human model airway epithelial cell lines, A549 cells were most sensitive toward the

Selective Modification of the Product Profile of Biocatalytic Hydrolyzed PET via Product‐Specific Medium Engineering

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
The product profile of enzymatically hydrolyzed PET can be modified by medium engineering and thereby adapted to a desired product. TPA, MHET or BHET can be forced as the predominant product using a basic pH (blue), 25 % ethylene glycol (EG) and IsPETasewt (green) or ≥25 % EG and LCCICCG (pink), respectively.

Exploring a Novel Conv‐Transformer Network for Multi‐Modality Heart Segmentation

open access: yesiRADIOLOGY, EarlyView.
We propose SFAM‐TransUnet for multimodality whole heart segmentation, a novel deep learning framework combining CNNs and transformers. Extensive experiments conducted on the clinical Multi‐Modality Whole Heart Segmentation datasets demonstrate that SFAM‐TransUnet outperforms various alternative methods.

A Thermodynamic Model for the Insertion Electrochemistry of Battery Cathodes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, 2023
Invited for this issue's Front Cover is the group of Prof. Dr. Uwe Schröder. The cover picture shows a crystal layer of nickel hydroxide that undergoes phase separation during electrochemical ion deinsertion (oxidation) and the corresponding modelled ...

Singularities of the divergence of continuous vector fields and uniform Hausdorff estimates

open access: yes, 2012
We prove that every closed set which is not sigma-finite with respect to the Hausdorff measure H^{N-1} carries singularities of continuous vector fields in the Euclidean space R^N for the divergence operator.
