Isoperimetric inequalities in Euclidean convex bodies [PDF]
In this paper we consider the problem of minimizing the relative perimeter under a volume constraint in the interior of a convex body, i.e., a compact convex set in Euclidean space with interior points.

On the complexity of computing the Hausdorff distance
Abstract We study the computational complexity of the Hausdorff distance of two curves on the two-dimensional plane, in the context of the Turing machine-based complexity theory of real functions. It is proved that the Hausdorff distance of any two polynomial-time computable curves is a left- Σ 2 P real number.

On non-separable components of hyperspaces with the Hausdorff metric [PDF]
Let $(X,d)$ be a connected non compact metric space. Suppose the metric$d$ convex and such that every closed bounded subset of $X$ is compact. Let $F(X)$ bethe space of nonvoid closed subsets of $X$ with the Hausdorff distance associated to $d$.We prove ...

First‐order Sobolev spaces, self‐similar energies and energy measures on the Sierpiński carpet
Abstract For any p∈(1,∞)$p \in (1,\infty)$, we construct p$p$‐energies and the corresponding p$p$‐energy measures on the Sierpiński carpet. A salient feature of our Sobolev space is the self‐similarity of energy. An important motivation for the construction of self‐similar energy and energy measures is to determine whether or not the Ahlfors regular ...

Comments on the floating body and the hyperplane conjecture [PDF]
We provide a reformulation of the hyperplane conjecture (the slicing problem) in terms of the floating body and give upper and lower bounds on the logarithmic Hausdorff distance between an arbitrary convex body $K\subset \mathbb{R}^{d}$\ and the convex ...

Abstract Let (Mn,g)$(M^n,g)$ be a complete Riemannian manifold which is not isometric to Rn$\mathbb {R}^n$, has nonnegative Ricci curvature, Euclidean volume growth, and quadratic Riemann curvature decay. We prove that there exists a set G⊂(0,∞)$\mathcal {G}\subset (0,\infty)$ with density 1 at infinity such that for every V∈G$V\in \mathcal {G}$ there ...

Some Properties and Applications of the Hausdorff Distance
Some properties of Hausdorff distance are studied. It is shown that, in every infinite-dimensional normed space, there exists a pair of closed and bounded sets such that the distance between every two points of these sets is greater than the Hausdorff distance between these sets.
