Abstract In the domain of battery research, the processing of high‐resolution microscopy images is a challenging task, as it involves dealing with complex images and requires a prior understanding of the components involved. The utilisation of deep learning methodologies for image analysis has attracted considerable interest in recent years, with ...

On the complexity of computing the Hausdorff distance
Abstract We study the computational complexity of the Hausdorff distance of two curves on the two-dimensional plane, in the context of the Turing machine-based complexity theory of real functions. It is proved that the Hausdorff distance of any two polynomial-time computable curves is a left- Σ 2 P real number.

Dynamically Consistent Analysis of Realized Covariations in Term Structure Models
ABSTRACT In this article, we show how to analyze the covariation of bond prices nonparametrically and robustly, staying consistent with a general no‐arbitrage setting. This is, in particular, motivated by the problem of identifying the number of statistically relevant factors in the bond market under minimal conditions.

On non-separable components of hyperspaces with the Hausdorff metric [PDF]
Let $(X,d)$ be a connected non compact metric space. Suppose the metric$d$ convex and such that every closed bounded subset of $X$ is compact. Let $F(X)$ bethe space of nonvoid closed subsets of $X$ with the Hausdorff distance associated to $d$.We prove ...

ABSTRACT In absence of sufficient data, structured expert judgment is a suitable method to estimate uncertain quantities. While such methods are well established for individual variables, eliciting their dependence in a structured manner is a less explored field of research.

Recovering metric from full ordinal information
Given a geodesic space (E, d), we show that full ordinal knowledge on the metric d-i.e. knowledge of the function D d : (w, x, y, z) $\rightarrow$ 1 d(w,x)$\le$d(y,z) , determines uniquely-up to a constant factor-the metric d.

Some Properties and Applications of the Hausdorff Distance
Some properties of Hausdorff distance are studied. It is shown that, in every infinite-dimensional normed space, there exists a pair of closed and bounded sets such that the distance between every two points of these sets is greater than the Hausdorff distance between these sets.
