Extension of Compact Operators from DF-spaces to C(K) spaces

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2006
It is proved that every compact operator from a DF-space, closed subspace of another DF-space, into the space C(K) of continuous functions on a compact Hausdorff space K can be extended to a compact operator of the total DF-space.

Changes in corticospinal excitability in response to mediolateral gait instability

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Unpredictable gait disturbances, particularly in the mediolateral direction, pose a significant challenge to stability and are a common contributor to falls. Although the corticospinal tract is critical for gait and postural control, its response to such instabilities remains unclear.

The Linear Space of Hausdorff Continuous Interval Functions

open access: yesBiomath, 2013
In this paper we discuss the algebraic structure of the space H(X) of finite Hausdorff continuous interval functions defined on an arbitrary topological space X.

Concerning collectionwise Hausdorff spaces [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 1974
In this paper the notion of a space which has property (ω) pointwise is studied. The primary application of this concept is a reformulation of Tall's existence theorem for normal non-metrizable metacompact Moore spaces in terms of families which are finite on convergent sequences.

Structural determinants of re‐entrant drivers in atrial fibrillation: insights from digital twins derived from 3D micrometre‐resolution imaging of human heart

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Digital heart models of human donor atria with cardiac co‐morbidities revealed that regions with AWT variation, aligned myofibres adjacent to disorganised zones and fibrotic borders promoted the localisation and stability of RDs. AWT had a global influence, whereas fibre orientation and fibrosis exerted chamber‐specific regional ...

ASL 4D MRA Intracranial Vessel Segmentation With Deep Learning U‐Nets

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 4, Page 2384-2396, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To propose a spatio‐temporal U‐Net based network (4DST) that exploits both spatial and dynamic information while avoiding memory‐intensive 4D convolutional layers for ASL‐based non‐contrast enhanced 4‐dimensional MR angiography (4D MRA) vessel segmentation.

Some bounds related to the 2‐adic Littlewood conjecture

open access: yesMathematika, Volume 72, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract For every irrational real α$\alpha$, let M(α)=supn⩾1an(α)$M(\alpha) = \sup _{n\geqslant 1} a_n(\alpha)$ denote the largest partial quotient in its continued fraction expansion (or ∞$\infty$, if unbounded). The 2‐adic Littlewood conjecture (2LC) can be stated as follows: There exists no irrational α$\alpha$ such that M(2kα)$M(2^k \alpha)$ is ...

Semiclassical inequalities for Dirichlet and Neumann Laplacians on convex domains

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 3, Page 762-822, March 2026.
Abstract We are interested in inequalities that bound the Riesz means of the eigenvalues of the Dirichlet and Neumann Laplacians in terms of their semiclassical counterpart. We show that the classical inequalities of Berezin–Li–Yau and Kröger, valid for Riesz exponents γ≥1$\gamma \ge 1$, extend to certain values γ<1$\gamma <1$, provided the underlying ...
