夏威夷一维深部电性构造研究

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2022

Composition and spectroscopy of olivine xenocrysts from the Hawaiian tholeiitic basalts

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Естественные науки, 2020
Tholeiitic basalts of the Hawaiian Mauna Loa and Kīlauea volcanoes (USA) contain olivine xenocrysts with chromespinelide inclusions. Their chemical composition and spectroscopic properties were investigated and compared with olivine of another ...

The carbon and nitrogen ecophysiologies of two endemic tropical orchids mirrors those of their temperate relatives and the local environment [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2016
Orchids are one of the most widely distributed plant families. However, current research on the ecophysiology of terrestrial orchids is biased towards temperate species. Thus, it is currently unknown whether tropical terrestrial orchids belong to similar

A novel MC1R allele for black coat colour reveals the Polynesian ancestry and hybridization patterns of Hawaiian feral pigs [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2016
Pigs (Sus scrofa) have played an important cultural role in Hawaii since Polynesians first introduced them in approximately AD 1200. Additional varieties of pigs were introduced following Captain Cook's arrival in Hawaii in 1778 and it has been suggested

Reconnecting Rural Native Hawaiian Families to Food through Aquaponics

open access: yesGenealogy, 2020
Food insecurity is a pressing issue in Hawai‘i as the vast majority of available and accessible foods are imported. To address this issue, a backyard aquaponics program was implemented from 2010 to 2016 to offer additional avenues to food ...

Temporally and spatially partitioned behaviours of spinner dolphins: implications for resilience to human disturbance [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2017
Selective forces shape the evolution of wildlife behavioural strategies and influence the spatial and temporal partitioning of behavioural activities to maximize individual fitness. Globally, wildlife is increasingly exposed to human activities which may

Leukemia in Hawaii [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1968
An epidermiologic study on Leukemia in Hawaii was carried out for the period 1944–67. Leukemia in Hawaii appeared to be nearly as prevalent as on the mainland USA. The age and sex distribution, classification of chronicity, and age distribution by morphologic type are similar to leukemia reported elsewhere. The Japanese in Hawaii show high age specific
