Hazard Rate Function Estimation Using Weibull Kernel

open access: yesOpen Journal of Statistics, 2014
In this paper, we define the Weibull kernel and use it to nonparametric estimation of the probability density function (pdf) and the hazard rate function for independent and identically distributed (iid) data. The bias, variance and the optimal bandwidth of the proposed estimator are investigated.

Comparison of Multiple Hazard Rate Functions [PDF]

open access: yesBiometrics, 2015
Summary Many robust tests have been proposed in the literature to compare two hazard rate functions, however, very few of them can be used in cases when there are multiple hazard rate functions to be compared. In this article, we propose an approach for detecting the difference among multiple hazard rate functions.

TRANSFORMED DIFFEOMORPHIC KERNEL ESTIMATION OF HAZARD RATE FUNCTION [PDF]

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2001
Summary: A transformed diffeomorphic kernel estimator of the hazard rate function in the presence of censoring is constructed. The estimator is defined in the framework of a multiplicative intensity point process model. It is shown that the proposed estimator is asymptotically unbiased, consistent and asymptotically normal. Analysis in the reduction of

Hazard rate function estimation using Erlang kernel [PDF]

open access: yesPure Mathematical Sciences, 2014
In this paper, we de ne the Erlang kernel and use it to nonparametically estimation of the probability density function (pdf) and the hazard rate function for inde- pendent and identically distributed (iid) data. The bias, variance and the optimal bandwidth of the proposed estimator are investigated.

A Modification of the Gompertz Distribution Based on the Class of Extended-Weibull Distributions

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2020
This paper introduces a new four-parameter extension of the generalized Gompertz distributions. This distribution involves some well-known distributions such as extension of generalized exponential, generalized exponential, and generalized Gompertz ...

The Generalized Odd Linear Exponential Family of Distributions with Applications to Reliability Theory

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2022
A new family of continuous distributions called the generalized odd linear exponential family is proposed. The probability density and cumulative distribution function are expressed as infinite linear mixtures of exponentiated-F distribution.

A New Extended Model with Bathtub-Shaped Failure Rate: Properties, Inference, Simulation, and Applications

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Theoretical and applied researchers have been frequently interested in proposing alternative skewed and symmetric lifetime parametric models that provide greater flexibility in modeling real-life data in several applied sciences.

Maximum likelihood estimation of a log-concave density and its distribution function: Basic properties and uniform consistency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We study nonparametric maximum likelihood estimation of a log-concave probability density and its distribution and hazard function. Some general properties of these estimators are derived from two characterizations.

Stochastic Properties of the Weighted Hazard Rate Order [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2015
The hazard rate order between two weighted distributions with a given weight function is considered as a new stochastic order called weighted hazard rate order. The influences of biased sampling methods on properties of the hazard rate order are usefully

A case study of aging intensity function on censored data

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
A major concern for applied statisticians is the analysis of survival experiments under censoring. Here we study the aging intensity function and the hazard rate function on a case study of bone marrow transplant in acute leukemia patients, based on ...
