Hazard rate function in dynamic environment

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2014
Abstract The hazard rate function is always applied to make maintenance policy, and the usual hazard rate function is computed by the data of failure times of systems working in constant environment, thus for systems working in dynamic environment it cannot be directly applied.

A unimodal hazard rate function and its failure distribution

Statistical Papers, 1992
A unimodal hazard rate function is suggested to model a failure rate that has a relatively high rate of failure in the middle of expected life time. This unimodal hazard rate function has two shape parameters. One of the parameters indicates the location (time) of the mode and the other controls the height of the mode.

The Reversed Hazard Rate Function

Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 1998
In this paper we discuss some properties of the reversed hazard rate function. This function has been shown to be useful in the analysis of data in the presence of left censored observations. It is also natural in discussing lifetimes with reversed time scale.
