A note on randomly evolving hazard rate functions
Naval Research Logistics Quarterly, 1982AbstractLet τ be a finite stopping time with random hazard rate function (λt:t ≥ 0). We prove that στ λt dt is exponentially distributed with mean 1.

Statistical functions to represent various types of hazard rates
Microelectronics Reliability, 1980Abstract This paper presents two hazard rate models, I and II. Hazard rate and reliability expressions are presented. Model I parameters are estimated by applying the hazard plotting technique.

A unimodal hazard rate function and its failure distribution
Statistical Papers, 1992A unimodal hazard rate function is suggested to model a failure rate that has a relatively high rate of failure in the middle of expected life time. This unimodal hazard rate function has two shape parameters. One of the parameters indicates the location (time) of the mode and the other controls the height of the mode.

Some New Proofs of Results on Hazard-Rate Functions
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1971Simple proofs are given for the properties of hazard-rate functions of systems, whose subsystems are operating sequentially (in series) or simultaneously (in parallel) and whose hazard-rate characteristics are known.
