Orderings of the second-largest order statistic with modified proportional reversed hazard rate samples

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
<p>Order statistics is a significant research topic within probability and statistics, particularly due to its widespread application in areas such as reliability and actuarial science. Extensive research has been conducted on extreme order statistics, and this paper focused on the second-order statistics. Specifically, the study investigated the

The Comprehensive Live Cell‐Based Cytotoxicity Assay for Monitoring Disease Activity and Guiding Rescue Therapy in Acute Attacks of NMOSD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a devastating neurological disease that lacks serological biomarkers that can accurately reflect disease activity. We established a live cell‐based assay (LCBA) using serum with endogenous complement to quantify the overall cytotoxicity, offering a novel functional tool for monitoring

Data‐Driven SuStaIn Model of Disability Progression in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether ordinal Subtype and Stage Inference (SuStaIn) applied to routine ALSFRS‐R item scores can identify reproducible disability progression patterns in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and provide clinically meaningful staging.

Systemic Extracerebral Atherosclerotic Burden and Dementia Risk After Incident Stroke

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Stroke survivors are at increased risk of dementia, but clinically accessible markers of risk heterogeneity remain limited. Previous studies have largely examined atherosclerotic disease in individual vascular beds rather than the overall burden of systemic extracerebral atherosclerosis.

Repeated moral hazard and recursive Lagrangeans [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper shows how to solve dynamic agency models by extending recursive Lagrangean techniques à la Marcet and Marimon (2011) to problems with hidden actions. The method has many advantages with respect to promised utilities approach (Abreu, Pearce and

Orderings of the finite mixture with modified proportional hazard rate model

open access: yes
In this paper, we consider finite mixture models with modified proportional hazard rates. Sufficient conditions for the usual stochastic order and the hazard order are established under chain majorization. We study stochastic comparisons under different settings of T-transform for various values of chain majorization.

Discordance Between Patient and Physician Global Assessments in Early Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to identify factors associated with patient global assessment (PtGA) and physician global assessment (PhGA) and discordance between them in systemic sclerosis (SSc). Methods Data from adults with early SSc (<5 years) from the Collaborative National Quality and Efficacy Registry were included.

Moral Hazard and Clear Conscience [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper studies theoretically how the optimal contract in the hidden-action moral hazard model is affected when an agent feels bad when not reaching a target effort set in the contract.

Discordance Between Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index Domain Weights and Their Association With Organ Damage Accrual

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Studies of damage accrual in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) show associations with disease activity measured by the SLE Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI‐2K), but these associations are imperfect. SLEDAI scores are powerfully influenced by weightings (1–8) assigned to each domain.

Linear and Quadratic Functionals of RandomHazard rates: an Asymptotic Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
A popular Bayesian nonparametric approach to survival analysis consists in modeling hazard rates as kernel mixtures driven by a completely random measure.
