Copula Hazard Rate Ordering and Dependence
Journal of the Indian Society for Probability and Statistics, 2021In this paper, we propose a stochastic order for bivariate copulas based on their hazard rates. We study its properties and the relationships it has with some stochastic orders and dependence notions. The utility of the new order in verifying concepts and orders involving dependence notions is also discussed.

On Relative Reversed Hazard Rate Order
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2015In this paper, through the monotonicity property of reversed hazards ratio, a new stochastic ordering is introduced. Two well-known parametric families of distributions are proved to be ordered with respect to their parameters, according to the new proposed stochastic order. Other situations, where the new order is applicable, are described in details.

Comparison of maintenance policies in hazard rate order
2009 8th International Conference on Reliability, Maintainability and Safety, 2009In this paper, we report stochastic comparisons of maintenance policies for minimal repairs with the generalized age replacement. Results of comparisons of the same policy for different units with minimal repair in the hazard rate order are given.

Hazard rate ordering of the largest order statistics from geometric random variables
Journal of Applied Probability, 2018Mao and Hu (2010) left an open problem about the hazard rate order between the largest order statistics from two samples of n geometric random variables. Du et al. (2012) solved this open problem when n = 2, and Wang (2015) solved for 2 ≤ n ≤ 9.
