DETECTION OF HBsAg IN THE PANCREAS

Acta Pathologica Japonica, 1981
Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) has been reported to be present in other organs than the liver.3,9 So far as our knowledge is concerned, however, any report of cases dealing with pancreatic diseases induced by hepatitis B virus (HBV) has not been described in the English and Japanese literature.

Presence of HBsAg in the Bile of Subjects with Acute HBsAg Viral Hepatitis

Pathobiology, 1975
During acute HBsAg serum positive viral hepatitis, the surface antigen was not detectable in duodenal bile but was almost always present in gallbladder and hepatic bile when cholecystokinin was intravenously administered. The immunologic nondemonstrability of HBsAg in duodenal bile is probably due to the ...

Calibration of qualitative HBsAg assay results for quantitative HBsAg monitoring

Journal of Clinical Virology, 2014
Evidence is accumulating that quantitative hepatitis B surface antigen monitoring may be useful in managing patients with chronic HBV infection on certain treatment regimens. Based on these results with the Abbott Architect qualitative and quantitative HBsAg assays, it seems feasible to convert qualitative to quantitative HBsAg values for this purpose.

Quantitative Determination of the HBsAg

Vox Sanguinis, 1980
Abstract. HBsAg concentrations down to 0.05 mg/ml can be measured by a quantitative immunoelectrophoresis. By a quantitative radioimmunoassay, HBsAg concentrations from 0.001 mg to 1 mg/ml can be measured.

Detection of HBsAg mutants

Journal of Medical Virology, 2006
HBsAg screening is carried out routinely to detect hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The immunoassays used employ capture antibodies often having specificity for epitopes present on the antigenic (a) determinant of the HBsAg. Loss of detection may occur due to mutations within and/or outside of the a determinant that affect conformational epitope ...

Circulating HBsAg/IgM complexes in chronic HBsAg carriers

Annales de l'Institut Pasteur / Virologie, 1983
Summary Sera of young male HBsAg carriers from Senegal were investigated for complexes between IgM and HBsAg. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay based on selective absorption of IgM was used. HBsAg/IgM complexes were detected in 14% of the HBsAg carriers.

HBsAg blood screening and diagnosis: performance evaluation of the ARCHITECT HBsAg qualitative and ARCHITECT HBsAg qualitative confirmatory assays

Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, 2011
A low initial reactive rate for screening assays is important for time- and cost-effective infectious disease testing. Therefore, the new ARCHITECT HBsAg Qualitative screening assay, in conjunction with the new ARCHITECT HBsAg Qualitative Confirmatory assay, was introduced.

HBsAg subtype distribution among different populations of HBsAg carriers in Spain

European Journal of Epidemiology, 1995
Data concerning the HBsAg subtype distribution in Spain are out-of-date and confined to a restricted geographical area. Furthermore, the complex distribution observed in the countries surrounding Spain prevents any prediction. To obtain further data on HBsAg subtype distribution among Spanish HBsAg carriers, subtyping analysis (d and y determinants ...

The Development of HBsAg-Positive Hepatitis Despite the Previous Existence of Antibody to HBsAg

The Journal of Immunology, 1976
Summary A dentist developed acute, icteric HBsAg-positive hepatitis despite the prior existence of anti-HBs. Evaluation of this antibody showed it to have a restricted specificity reacting with only one subdeterminant (α1) of the hepatitis B surface antigen. The anti-HBs/α1 coexisted with HBsAg of subtype ayw in the acute phase hepatitis

[Incidence of HBsAg in persons living with HBsAg carriers].

Quaderni Sclavo di diagnostica clinica e di laboratorio, 1976
The prevalence of HBsAg was studied, by Counterelectrophoresis and Radioimmunoassay, in 232 household contacts of 65 HBsAg carriers. The overall incidence of HBsAg in household contacts was 14,65%, as compared with the generally accepted figure of about 1% in the general population in Italy. As far as the prevalence of HBsAg and abnormal liver function
