Age Differences in Acute Chest Pain Care in a Multisite US Cohort

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background This study aims to determine if differences in age affect safety and healthcare utilization among patients with chest pain in a multisite US ED cohort, after accounting for comorbidities and high‐sensitivity troponin (hs‐cTn). Methods We conducted a multisite observational study using the Wake Forest Chest Pain Registry, which ...

Drivers of Thermal Habitat Use in Turtles Studied Under Semi‐Natural Conditions

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We quantify thermal habitat use in nine turtle species by recording environmental temperatures experienced by individuals in semi‐natural settings. Thermal habitat use differed among species and higher temperatures were generally used by larger animals, pointing to behavioral mechanisms that may influence species responses to environmental change. This

ACL reconstruction: correlation of the functional outcome with the position of femoral and tibial tunnels

open access: yesГений oртопедии
Introduction The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the main ligament that stabilizes the knee and stops anterior translation. It is also essential to the screw-home mechanism and helps resist valgus and rotational stress.

Beam energy dependence of Hanbury-Brown-Twiss radii from a blast-wave model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The beam energy dependence of correlation lengths (the Hanbury-Brown-Twiss radii) is calculated by using a blast-wave model and the results are comparable with those from RHIC-STAR beam energy scan data as well as the LHC-ALICE measurements.

Long wavelength pin/HBT optical receiver monolithicallyintegrated with HBT comparator

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1996
A GaInAs pin PD, a GaInAs/InP HBT transimpedance-type preamplifier, and a GaInAs/InP HBT comparator have been monolithically integrated on an InP substrate with pin/HBT integration technology. The receiver OEIC with a comparator showed a sensitivity of –36.0 dBm at a bit error rate of 1 × 10-9 for 125 Mbit/s signals.

Covalent Immobilization of Laccase on Mesoporous Bismuth Silicate for High‐Performance Biodegradation of Contaminants

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 10, 1 April 2026.
Myceliophthora thermophila laccase covalently immobilized on bismuth silicate (BiSi‐ext) achieved synergistic adsorption–biodegradation of Tectilon Blue 4R‐01 and ibuprofen. The biocatalyst showed enhanced stability, reusability, and rapid pollutant removal via expanded active‐site accessibility, enabling efficient, eco‐friendly wastewater remediation.

Impact of Germination Time on Nutritional and Functional Properties of Ancient and Modern Wheat Flours and Their Application in Cake Formulation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
Germination (0–7 days) of ancient (einkorn, emmer) and modern (Esperia) wheats enhanced nutritional and functional properties by increasing lutein, phenolics, antioxidant capacity, and mineral bioavailability while reducing phytic acid. Cakes containing 20% substitution of 3 day germinated flour maintained acceptable texture and sensory properties ...

Clinical advantage and outcomes of computed tomography‐based transvaginal hybrid brachytherapy performed only by sedation without general or saddle block anesthesia

open access: yesCancer Reports, 2022
Background Three‐dimensional image‐guided brachytherapy is the standard of care in cervical cancer radiotherapy. In addition, the usefulness of the so‐called “hybrid brachytherapy (HBT)” has been reported, which involves the addition of needle ...

First Measurements of Pion Correlations by the PHENIX Experiment

open access: yes, 2001
First identical-pion correlations measured at RHIC energies by PHENIX are presented. Two analyses with separate detectors, systematics, and statistics provide consistent results.

IntegrateALL: An end‐to‐end RNA‐seq analysis pipeline for multilevel data extraction and interpretable subtype classification in B‐precursor ALL

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Transcriptome sequencing (RNA‐seq) is emerging as a diagnostic standard for B‐cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL). Expression‐based classifiers reach ~95% accuracy, but reproducible end‐to‐end solutions that also integrate transcript‐derived genomic drivers and quantitative virtual karyotyping are lacking.
