A Linear-size Conversion of HCP to 3HCP [PDF]

We provide an algorithm that converts any instance of the Hamiltonian cycle problem (HCP) into a cubic instance of HCP (3HCP), and prove that the input size of the new instance is only a linear function of that of the original instance. This is achieved by first considering various restrictions of HCP.

Janus Photonic Graphics by Stratified Assembly of Two Distinct Colloids

Double‐sided Janus photonic micropatterns with vivid structural colors are fabricated through a single‐step bottom‐up strategy. Density‐driven stratification and depletion‐mediated crystallization of PMMA and PS binary colloids lead to exclusive lattices on opposite surfaces under centrifugal force.

Crystal Growth Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Plating

This research employed the rare‐earth ion dysprosium (Dy) to modulate aqueous zinc (Zn) metal plating. Integrated multiscale experiments and computational modeling unveiled the preferential adsorption of Dy on specific crystal facets, which activated screw dislocation‐driven Zn growth.
