A Complex Network of Obesity-Risk Genes Revealed by Systematic Bioinformatics and Single-Cell Transcriptomic Analyses

open access: yesJournal of Obesity
The development of obesity is closely linked to genetic factors. Despite the identification of numerous genes associated with an increased risk of obesity in humans, a comprehensive understanding of their biological roles has not been achieved.

3D Bioprinted Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC) Model Using Tunicate Derived Nanocellulose (NC) Bioink

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
A 3D bioprinted HNSCC model for use in anti‐cancer drug testing is established in proof‐of‐concept. The innovative tunicate‐derived nanocellulose hydrogel proved to be a viable alternative to gelatin‐based hydrogel, offering improved bioprintability for HNSCC model establishment.

HPV & head and neck cancer: a descriptive update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The incidence of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) has been gradually increasing over the last three decades. Recent data have now attributed a viral aetiology to a subset of head and neck cancers.

PPARG and the PTEN-PI3K/AKT Signaling Axis May Cofunction in Promoting Chemosensitivity in Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesPPAR Research
It has been demonstrated that PPARG may interact with the PTEN-PI3K/AKT pathway, contributing to its involvement in the chemotherapy treatment of hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HSCC). However, the underlying mechanism remains largely unknown. In

3D‐Printed Scaffolds Promote Enhanced Spinal Organoid Formation for Use in Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed organoid scaffolds with microscale channels are developed to enhance spinal cord injury recovery by guiding region‐specific spinal neural progenitor cells. These scaffolds promote axonal growth, cell maturation, and neuronal network formation.

Nanobody‐Decorated Lipid Nanoparticles for Enhanced mRNA Delivery to Tumors In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a targeted mRNA‐LNP platform engineered with anti‐PSMA nanobodies for prostate cancer therapy. Using different in vivo models, the authors demonstrate selective uptake and mRNA delivery in PSMA+ cancer cells. However, while targeting is enhanced, mRNA delivery efficacy is limited by tissue penetration, tumor necrosis, and immune ...

The orbit space of groupoids whose $C^*$-algebras are GCR

open access: yes, 2017
Let $G$ be second countable locally compact Hausdorff groupoid with a continuous Haar system. We remove the assumption of amenability in a theorem by Clark about GCR groupoid $C^*$-algebras.
