Bridging the gap: a genetically validated avian chorioallantoic membrane platform for investigation of spontaneous circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established the avian chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay as a scalable in vivo model for studying circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Human gastrointestinal tumors spontaneously released genetically validated CTCs that were detected across multiple platforms, demonstrating that the CAM model provides an accessible tool for investigating early cancer ...

Correlation and path coefficient analysis for determining interrelationships among grain yield and related characters in Iranian genotypes of triticale

open access: yesРастениевъдни науки, 2017
To determine the most important traits influencing grain yield of Iranian genotypes of triticale, 7 lines along with one control genotype were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications in two locations of Research Station of Birjand ...

A new strategy of molecular breeding for optimal heading date and grain yield in rice by modulating elite allelic combinations of Ghd7, Hd3a, RFT1 and Gn1a

open access: yesCrop Journal
A later heading date generally leads to higher grain yield in favorable ecological regions; however, grain yield reaches a limit as the heading date exceeds a certain threshold.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Allelic Variation in Loci for Adaptive Response and Its Effect on Agronomical Traits in Chinese Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2014
Heading date was an important trait that decided the adaptation of wheat to environments. It was modified by genes involved in vernalization response, photoperiod response and development rate.

Effect of phyB and phyC loss-of-function mutations on the wheat transcriptome under short and long day photoperiods

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2020
Background Photoperiod signals provide important cues by which plants regulate their growth and development in response to predictable seasonal changes.

Genome–wide association mapping for heading date in oats under subtropical environments

open access: yes, 2022
Selection for heading date has been a decisive factor to increase areas cropped with oats in Brazil. Although important to oat breeders, genomic regions controlling heading date have not been completely identified.

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Yeast Gcn2 retains activity following humanization of its auto‐phosphorylation region

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model to study Gcn2 activation and regulation is limited by the lack of antibodies detecting phosphorylated Gcn2. To overcome this, we engineered Gcn2‐HsC, a yeast Gcn2 variant recognizable by commercial anti‐human phospho‐GCN2 antibodies.

Molecular marker analysis of heading date Hd1 locus in Egyptian rice varieties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Nine molecular markers derived from the heading date QTL Hd1 DNA sequence for cultivated rice were used to study the heading date allelic diversity of the cultivated Egyptian rice varieties. The results showed that among the nine simple sequence repeats (
