Inverse‐Designed Superchiral Hot Spot in Dielectric Meta‐Cavity Toward Ultra‐Compact Enantioselective Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Linearly polarized incident light with normal incidence creates enhanced optical chirality hotspots on the metasurface. Several orders of magnitude optical chirality enhancement offers a promising route toward highly sensitive, compact chiral spectroscopy.

Dynamic Fluorescence Modulation via Light‐Driven Competitive Protonation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐component molecular system demonstrates reversible, light‐driven fluorescence write–erase cycling and thermal imaging. Illumination of a merocyanine photoacid transfers a proton to a highly efficient fluorescent pyridinium dye, switching its emission color; thermal relaxation reverses the process in the dark.

Photoluminescent Color Centers on a Mainstream Silicon Photonic Foundry Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon photonic chips route and process light efficiently but are inherently inefficient at generating it. Here, bright light‐emitting defects, W‐centers, are written into the silicon layer of finished chips from a mainstream commercial foundry: high‐energy ions are implanted straight through the protective oxide and activated by a 250∘C$^\circ{\rm C}$

Sub‐Diffraction and Irreversibly Tunable Imaging With Potato Starch Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Native potato starch granules function as sustainable birefringent microlenses that enable polarization‐controlled conventional and vortex lensing via spin‐to‐orbital angular momentum conversion. They provide sub‐diffraction and spiral‐contrast imaging, support vortex‐array generation with controllable topological‐charge sign, exhibit irreversible ...
