Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and Presbyacusis

International Journal of Audiology, 1971
The effect of aging on hearing (threshold) levels at 1 000 and 4 000 Hz was investigated in war veterans who had normal hearing for their age at 1 000 Hz and considerable hearing losses at 4 000 Hz (produced by acoustic trauma or other war-time noise exposure) when first tested audiometrically. It was found that the threshold levels at both 1 000 and 4

Noise-induced hearing loss and blood pressure

International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health, 1990
The study was carried out on 85 workers with long-term exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 dB(A). The control group consisted of 85 workers who had never been exposed to noise levels greater than recommended, i.e. 85 dB(A), in their working environment. All the workers in the exposed group had hearing loss which was confirmed by audiometry.
