Association Between Carotid Atherosclerosis and Post‐Stroke Cognitive Impairment in Patients With Mild Ischemic Stroke: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
Carotid ultrasound parameters, particularly Crouse score and severe carotid stenosis, are independently associated with post‐stroke cognitive impairment and may serve as simple, non‐invasive predictors for early risk stratification. Dual AAV gene therapy achieves recovery of hearing and auditory processing in a DFNB16 mouse model

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
DFNB16 is among the most prevalent forms of congenital deafness, caused by mutations in the Stereocilin gene. Although no treatment currently exists, gene therapy represents a promising curative approach. Here, we demonstrate that AAV‐mediated gene delivery in a DFNB16 mouse model restored both peripheral hearing and central auditory processing ...

Computer‐aided prediction of growth in vestibular schwannomas based on both structural and dynamic contrast‐enhanced MR imaging

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Background Vestibular schwannomas (VS) are benign intracranial tumors in the cerebellopontine angle. For most small‐sized and medium‐sized tumors, a wait‐and‐scan (W&S) approach is employed, since active treatment does not necessarily lead to symptom alleviation and up to 60% of VS tumors remain stable or regress during their natural course ...
