Unilateral Sensorineural Hearing Loss Rehabilitation
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1991The Audiant Bone Conductor has been heralded as an aid for use in conductive hearing loss; however, its possible use in unilateral sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) has also been proposed. Between July 1987 and July 1989, profound unilateral sensorineural hearing loss has been rehabilitated In 43 patients using the Xomed Audiant Bone Conductor ...

Management of unilateral hearing loss
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 2016A representative sample of literature regarding unilateral hearing loss (UHL) was reviewed to provide evidence of the effects of UHL and the intervention options available for children with UHL. Considerations during the assessment and management of children with UHL are illustrated using case illustrations.Research articles published from 2013 to 2015

Unilateral hearing loss in children
The Laryngoscope, 1991AbstractRecent reports suggest that early onset, severe unilateral sensorineural hearing loss (USNHL) in children may be associated with significant deficits in auditory and psycholinguistic skills and school performance. This report reviews a consecutive series of 324 children and adolescents (202 males, 122 females) with documented USNHL evaluated at

Occlusion Effect: Unilateral Sensorineural Hearing Loss
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1968The discrepancy between the occlusion effect and a corresponding sound pressure, which arises in the external auditory canal, was compare for 10 normal-hearing subjects and 10 subjects with a unilateral sensorineural hearing loss. No significant differences were found between the mean occlusion effects of the two groups.

Cochlear Nerve Deficiency in Pediatric Unilateral Hearing Loss and Asymmetric Hearing Loss
Audiology and Neurotology, 2022Introduction: The rates of cochlear nerve abnormalities and cochlear malformations in pediatric unilateral hearing loss (UHL) are conflicting in the literature, with important implications on management. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence of cochlear nerve deficiency (CND) in pediatric subjects with UHL or asymmetric hearing loss ...

UNILATERAL SENSORINEURAL HEARING LOSS
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1966To the Editor: I would deeply appreciate your advice on a difficult problem. I have just examined an 8-year-old boy who contracted mumps in June. This was followed by a severe unilateral sensorineural hearing loss. What knowledge do we have of the type of damage usually produced in such cases and is any medical therapy indicated?
